How To Adjust Security Preferences in Google reCAPTCHA

How to Adjust Your Google reCAPTCHA Security Settings

If you’re using Google reCAPTCHA with your PhotoBiz forms, you can fine-tune the security level to control how your forms handle spam submissions. Increasing the security level blocks more spam bots, while lowering it can make it easier for real visitors to submit forms.

Why This Matters

Recently, some users have reported higher-than-normal spam submissions through PhotoBiz forms that use reCAPTCHA. This is often due to changes in spam bot behavior or lower security thresholds in reCAPTCHA settings. Adjusting your security level helps ensure your forms stay protected while keeping them easy for legitimate clients to use.

STEP ONE

Log Into Your Google reCAPTCHA Account

Go to the Google reCAPTCHA Admin Console

Sign in with the same Google account you used when setting up reCAPTCHA for your PhotoBiz forms.

STEP TWO

Open Your reCAPTCHA Settings

In the top-right corner of your dashboard, click the gear icon (⚙️) to open your reCAPTCHA settings.

FINAL STEP

Adjust Your Security Preferences

Use the Security Preference slider to set your desired level of spam protection:

  • Slide right for stronger spam protection (stricter form submissions)
  • Slide left for less strict filtering

When you’re done, click Save Changes at the bottom of the page to apply your updates.

Troubleshooting & Tips

  • If you’re still receiving spam: Try moving the slider further to the right to increase your security level.
  • If clients report issues submitting forms: The setting may be too strict—try lowering it slightly and test the form yourself.
  • Recheck your form connection: If you recently updated your site’s domain or SSL settings, verify that your reCAPTCHA keys are still valid and connected properly.
