Overview
PhotoBiz ECommerce allows you to create albums and photo books for clients to purchase through your website or Client Galleries. You can set the product price, photo requirements, shipping charges, product options, and the cost of including additional images.
When clients order through a Client Galleries event, they can select the images for their album or photo book directly from the gallery. The submitted order includes the selected file names and image thumbnails, making it easier to identify the correct files and fulfill the order.
This guide shows you how to create an album or photo book, configure its available settings, and make it available through your website or Client Galleries.
Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click ECOMMERCE in the left-side menu.
This opens the ECommerce Dashboard, where you can manage products, orders, payments, shipping settings, and other online store features.
Hover over SELL ONLINE at the top of the ECommerce Dashboard and select PRODUCTS from the dropdown menu.
The Products section displays the products and product categories currently set up in your account.
Click NEW PRODUCT to begin creating your album or photo book.
Choose the category where you want the product to appear. Product categories help you organize albums, photo books, prints, and other products. You can move products between categories later by dragging and dropping them.
Enter the information for your album or photo book. Add a clear Product Name and a Description that explains what the client will receive. Include important details such as the album size, cover material, number of pages, paper type, production time, and other ordering information.
Enter the starting Price. Turn on Charge Tax if sales tax applies. Turn on Charge Shipping if the product should use your shipping settings. Enter an Additional Shipping Cost if the album or photo book requires an extra charge beyond your standard shipping rate.
Enter the Minimum Photos and Maximum Photos requirements. Minimum Photos controls the fewest number of event images a client must select to complete the product. Maximum Photos controls the number of images included with the product before additional photo charges apply.
Turn on Active when you are ready to make the product available for use on your website or in a Client Galleries price list.
Click Create Product to finish creating the product.
After creating the product, review the additional sections for images, options, photo requirements, add-ons, stock, SEO and search settings, and tags.
Complete the settings that apply to your album or photo book. Use the Save button after making changes. Saving automatically applies the updates to your account.
Creating and activating the product does not automatically display it to clients. Add the product to a Products Block to sell it through your website. To allow clients to select event images for the album or photo book, add the product to a Client Galleries price list and assign that price list to the appropriate event.
The main product details control how the album or photo book is priced and presented to clients.
Use a product name and description that clearly distinguish the album or photo book from your other products. Include enough information to help clients understand what is included before they place an order.
Product images help clients understand the appearance, materials, and quality of the album or photo book.
Open IMAGES to:
After adding an image, click its thumbnail to enter a title, caption, or alt text.
Consider including images that show:
Only use client photographs when you have permission to display them.
For complete instructions, see How to Add Product Images.
Use OPTIONS to offer different versions of the same album or photo book.
Options may include:
Sub-options allow you to display additional choices based on an option the client has already selected. For example, the available cover colors may depend on the cover material selected by the client.
See How to Set Up Product Options and Sub-Options for complete instructions.
Use the Photo Requirements section to update the minimum and maximum number of photos required for the product.
For example, if an album requires at least 20 images and includes up to 30 images, enter 20 for Minimum Photos and 30 for Maximum Photos.
Click Save Changes to apply the updated photo requirements.
See How To Set Photo Requirement for Products for full instructions.
Use ADD-ONS to allow clients to select more images than the amount entered under Maximum Photos.
This section includes the following settings:
For example, an album may include a maximum of 30 photos. If Maximum Additional Photos is set to 10, the client can select up to 40 photos. Each image selected after the first 30 adds the Additional Price Per Photo to the order.
Leave these settings unused when clients should not be able to select more than the Maximum Photos amount.
Use STOCK when you need to limit the number of products available for purchase. You can enter the available quantity and update it as products are sold or restocked.
Stock tracking may be helpful for:
You may not need stock tracking when each album or photo book is custom-made after the client places an order.
See How to Set Up Stock Tracking on Products for complete instructions.
Use SEO & SEARCH to help search engines and website visitors understand the product page.
Add a clear page title and description that accurately describe the album or photo book. Use natural search terms that potential clients may use, such as:
Avoid repeating the same keyword unnecessarily. Write for your clients first and make sure the information accurately represents the product.
See How To Make Products Searchable for complete instructions.
Use TAGS to organize products and track client purchases.
Product tags may include:
Tags can also help you create targeted email marketing campaigns for clients who purchased specific products.
Tags are different from product categories and options. Categories organize products in your account, while options control the choices available to clients.
See How To Use Product Tags for complete instructions.
To sell the album or photo book through your website, add a Products Block to the appropriate page.
Select the individual product or product category you want the block to display. Confirm that the product is active and that your payment, tax, and shipping settings are complete before accepting orders.
Products ordered directly through your website do not allow clients to select images from a Client Galleries event. Use the Client Galleries workflow when the album or photo book must include specific event images.
To sell the album or photo book using images from a Client Galleries event, add the product to a Client Galleries price list. Assign that price list to the appropriate event before making the product available to clients.
When clients order the album or photo book through their event, they can select the images they want included directly from the gallery. The submitted order includes the file names and thumbnails for the selected images, making it easier to identify the correct files and complete the order.
The following settings control the client’s image selections:
For example, if an album includes up to 30 photos and allows 10 additional photos, the client can select up to 40 images from the event. The completed order will include the file names and thumbnails for each selected image, along with any additional photo charges.
When a client purchases an album or photo book through a Client Galleries event, you can review the submitted order in the ECommerce Dashboard.
The order will have 2 sections, the order summary at the top and then the item details below it.
The item details include the file names and thumbnails for the images selected from the event. This allows you to confirm exactly which files should be included when designing and fulfilling the album or photo book.
The order will also display any selected product options, additional images, and related charges when those settings apply.
The screenshots below show an example of an album product in an order from the PhotoBiz ECommerce Dashboard.
Your client will also receive an email receipt with a link that's valid for 7 days to save a copy of their receipt for their records. Receipts can be resent with a new link that is valid for 7 days at any time from your ECommerce dashboard.
See How To Resend an Email Receipt Link for full instruction.
Review the complete product before making it available to clients. Confirm that the following information is correct:
Consider testing the product with a private website page or a test Client Galleries event and price list before adding it to an active client event.
You can also drag and drop products between categories if you reorganize your ECommerce products later.
