How Do I Add A Download Option for my Products?

Selling Digital Product Downloads with PhotoBiz ECommerce

PhotoBiz ECommerce allows you to sell digital products such as PDFs, eBooks, photo presets, and downloadable resources directly from your website. You can upload your file, attach it to a product, and control how long customers have access and how many times they can download it.

This guide walks you through how to set up a digital download product in your PhotoBiz account. By the end, your product will automatically deliver the file to customers after purchase.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure:

Your digital file is ready to upload
You have access to your PhotoBiz account
You have created or are ready to create a product

Supported file types include:

JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF
TTF, OTF, WOFF2
PDF, PSD
DOC, DOCX
XLS, XLSX
ZIP
ICO, MP3, JS, CSS, SVG

Files can be up to 4MB on standard plans. Files up to 50MB require the Original Files upgrade.

💡 Pro Tip

Don’t see the file extension you want to use? Try zipping your file! ZIP files are a great workaround for unsupported file types and can include multiple files in one download.

STEP ONE

Log into your PhotoBiz account and click ECOMMERCE from the left-side menu. This will open your ECommerce dashboard where you manage products and sales.

STEP TWO

At the top of the page, hover over SELL ONLINE and click PRODUCTS. This will take you to your product list where you can create or edit items in your store.

STEP THREE

Select an existing product to edit or click NEW PRODUCT to create a new one. This opens the product editor where you can configure pricing, descriptions, and delivery settings.

If you're editing an existing product and you have multiple pages or categories of products, you can use the search bar to easily locate the product by name.

STEP FOUR

Click on the Digital Download tab inside the product editor. In the LINK TO section, select File and choose your uploaded file using the CHOOSE A FILE dropdown. This connects your product to the file that will be delivered after purchase.

FINAL STEP

Scroll down and configure your download settings, then click SAVE CHANGES. Once saved, your product is ready to sell and your customers will automatically receive access to their download after checkout.

You can control how customers access their files using these options:

Number of Days Download is Available
Set how long the download link remains active after purchase
Maximum Downloads Per Order
Limit how many times a customer can download the file

Using ZIP Files

If your file type is not supported or you want to deliver multiple files:

Combine files into a ZIP file
Upload the ZIP file to your PhotoBiz account
Attach it to your product

This allows you to deliver multiple items in a single download.

File Size Limits

Standard accounts: up to 4MB per file
With Original Files upgrade: up to 50MB per file

If your file exceeds these limits, you will need to reduce the size or upgrade your account.
