How to Enable Free Digital Downloads in Client Galleries

Overview

PhotoBiz Client Galleries allow you to share images with your clients and control how those images are delivered. You can enable free digital downloads for any gallery event, either when creating a new event or by updating an existing one. This guide walks you through both options so you can choose how clients access their files. By the end, you will have free downloads enabled and know how clients interact with them.

STEP ONE

Log into your PhotoBiz account and click CLIENT GALLERIES in the left-hand menu.

STEP TWO

You can either create a New Event or turn on free downloads for an existing event.

For New Events

  1. Click NEW EVENT.

  2. Fill in your event details, including:

    • Event Name

    • Expiration Date

    • Password (optional)

    • Price List

    • Email Automation Series (optional)

  3. Scroll to the Allow Free Downloads section and choose one of the following options:

    • No – Free downloads are turned off (default)

    • Yes – All gallery visitors can download files for free

    • Yes, with code – Only visitors with a download code can download files for free

  4. Select the Download Resolution you want to offer:

    • Web Size (Low Resolution): Up to 1500 x 865 pixels

    • Web Size (High Resolution): Up to 3000 x 1730 pixels

    • Original Files: Full-size images (up to 50MB each)

  5. When finished, click CREATE EVENT at the bottom of the page.

FOR EXISTING EVENTS

  1. From your Client Galleries dashboard, click the name of the event you want to update.

  2. Click on the Gear Icon on the upper right side of the event to open your event settings.

  3. Scroll to the Allow Free Downloads section and choose:

    • No

    • Yes

    • Yes, with code

  4. Choose your preferred Download Resolution:

    • Web Size (Low Resolution): Up to 1500 x 865 pixels

    • Web Size (High Resolution): Up to 3000 x 1730 pixels

    • Original Files: Full-size images (up to 50MB each)

  5. Click SAVE CHANGES.

STEP THREE

Client Download Experience

Once free downloads are enabled, clients can easily access their images:

  1. Open the gallery event.

  2. Click or tap on an image to view it larger.

  3. Click the download arrow icon to download the image.

When a client clicks the download button and enters their email address, this activity is automatically recorded under your Client Galleries Activity section so you can track downloads.

FINAL STEP

Review and Monitor Download Activity

After enabling free downloads:

  • Clients will be able to download files according to the permissions and resolutions you’ve selected.

  • You can monitor all download activity under Client Galleries Activity in your dashboard.

Additional Options or Helpful Notes

Free Download Settings

  • No: Free downloads are disabled (default setting)
  • Yes: All visitors can download images for free
  • Yes, with code: Only visitors with a download code can access downloads

Download Resolution Options

  • Web Size (Low Resolution): Up to 1500 x 865 pixels
  • Web Size (High Resolution): Up to 3000 x 1730 pixels
  • Original Files: Full-size images (up to 50MB each)

Important

  • Original Files require a Premium Upgrade
  • Download activity is automatically tracked for each client
  • Email entry helps you keep a record of who downloads images
