Overview
Tags help you organize your contacts in PhotoBiz so you can quickly group people for email campaigns, client follow-ups, session reminders, vendor outreach, and other marketing workflows.
This guide walks you through how to apply a tag to multiple contacts at one time from your Contacts tool. You will also learn how to use a CSV import to tag a large group of contacts in bulk.
Log into your PhotoBiz account and click CONTACTS in the left-side menu.
This opens your Contacts tool, where you can view, search, organize, and manage the contacts saved in your account.
From your contact list, check the box next to each contact you want to tag.
After selecting your contacts, click the Add Tag button at the top of the Contacts section. This opens the tag window, where you can choose or create the tag you want to apply.
Enter the tag you want to apply to the selected contacts.
Previously used tags may appear as suggestions in the dropdown menu as you type. You can select an existing tag or enter a new tag if you are creating one for the first time.
Click ADD TAG to add the tag to the selection.
After adding your tag, click SAVE CHANGES.
PhotoBiz will apply the tag to the selected contacts. Once the update is complete, you will see a confirmation message. You can then search, filter, or organize your contacts using that tag.
Automatically Tag Contacts From a Form
If you are using a PhotoBiz form on your website, you can automatically apply a tag when someone submits that form.
This is helpful for organizing contacts by lead source, inquiry type, session interest, or campaign. For example, you may want everyone who submits a wedding inquiry form to receive a tag such as Wedding Lead.
You can set this up in the form settings for the specific form you are using.

Tag Contacts in Bulk With a CSV Import
If you need to tag a large number of contacts, you can use a CSV import instead of selecting contacts one by one.
To do this, go to the IMPORT tab in your Contacts tool and upload your spreadsheet. Your CSV file should include basic contact details such as names and email addresses.
During the import process, you will have the option to assign a tag. The tag you choose will be added to every contact included in the file.
If a contact already exists in your PhotoBiz account, the import will not create a duplicate. Instead, PhotoBiz will update the existing contact with the tag from your import. New contacts included in the spreadsheet will be added to your contact list with the selected tag.
This is the fastest way to apply one tag to hundreds or thousands of contacts at once.
Why do I not see a tag suggestion when typing?
Tag suggestions only appear for tags that have already been used in your Contacts tool. If you are creating a new tag, type the full tag name and add it manually.
Will tagging contacts send them an email?
No. Adding a tag only organizes the contact inside your PhotoBiz account. It does not automatically send an email campaign or message.
Can I add more than one tag to the same contacts?
Yes. You can apply multiple tags to the same contacts. This allows one contact to belong to more than one group, such as Wedding Lead, Newsletter, or Mini Sessions.
Will a CSV import create duplicate contacts?
No. If a contact already exists, PhotoBiz will update the existing contact instead of creating a duplicate. New contacts in the CSV file will be added to your contact list.
