Overview
PhotoBiz automatically tracks when an email sent from your account is rejected by a recipient’s email provider. When this happens, the contact is marked with an Email Bounced status to prevent additional messages from being sent to an address that may be invalid or unavailable.
This guide explains how to check whether a specific contact’s email address has bounced and how to remove the bounced status. You will also learn what to verify before making the contact available to receive emails again.
Before removing a bounced status, confirm that:
Removing an email address from the bounced list does not correct an invalid address or an issue with the recipient’s email provider.
Log into your PhotoBiz account and click on CONTACTS from the left-side menu.
Locate the contact you want to review. Click the contact’s email address to open their contact details.
You can use the Contacts search field to find the contact by name or email address.
Review the Contact Info section. If the email address has bounced, you will see an Email Bounced message with the date the bounce occurred.
A bounce means the recipient’s email provider rejected an email sent from your PhotoBiz account. This may affect Client Galleries Email Invitations, Blog Post Email Invitations, Form Email Invitations, Email Marketing campaigns, form notifications, and other emails sent through PhotoBiz.
An email may bounce because:
Before removing the bounced status, verify the contact’s email address. Correct any spelling errors or replace the address if the contact provided a new one.
To remove the contact from the bounced list, click the Pencil icon next to the Email Bounced information.
Select the confirmation checkbox indicating that you want to remove the contact’s email address from the bounced list. Click Save Changes.
After the contact has been removed from the bounced list, the Email Bounced section will no longer appear in their contact information. The email address will be available to receive future emails from your PhotoBiz account.
Only remove the bounced status after confirming that the email address is valid and able to receive messages.
Removing the status allows PhotoBiz to attempt delivery again. It does not guarantee that the recipient’s email provider will accept the next message.
If the email address rejects another message, PhotoBiz will automatically mark it as bounced again. You will need to resolve the delivery issue and repeat these steps before sending additional emails.
A bounced contact and an unsubscribed contact are not the same.
A bounced contact has an email address that rejected a message. You can remove the bounced status after verifying that the address can receive email again.
An unsubscribed contact has chosen not to receive emails sent through your PhotoBiz account. Removing a bounced status does not override an unsubscribe request.
The Email Bounced message returned after I removed it
The recipient’s email provider rejected another message. Confirm that the address is correct and ask the contact to check their mailbox storage, spam settings, and blocked sender settings.
The contact may also need to add your email address to their contacts or safe sender list.
The contact says the email address is correct
A correctly entered email address can still bounce because of a full mailbox, an unavailable email server, or security settings used by the recipient’s provider.
Ask the contact for another email address when the issue continues.
I do not see an Email Bounced message
If the Email Bounced section does not appear in the contact’s information, the address is not currently marked as bounced.
The message may have been filtered into the recipient’s spam, junk, promotions, or another inbox folder instead of being rejected.
