How to Add DNS Records in PhotoBiz
If your website is on an updated version of PhotoBiz (PhotoBiz 9 or higher) and your domain’s DNS is managed through AWS Route 53, you can add or update your DNS records directly from your PhotoBiz account.
Common DNS records include:
- A Record
- CNAME
- MX (Mail Exchange)
- TXT (e.g., Google verification, Google Search Console)
- SPF, DKIM, and DMARC for email authentication
- SRV for services like VoIP
IMPORTANT: This feature is only available if your domain uses AWS (Route 53) name servers. If your domain is still on our legacy Rackspace name servers, you won’t see the DNS management option.
STEP ONE
Log in to PhotoBiz and Open Domain Settings
- Log in to your PhotoBiz account.
- From the left-hand menu, click DOMAINS.
STEP TWO
Open the DNS Zone Editor
- In the Domains panel, locate your domain.
- Click MANAGE DNS next to your domain name.
STEP THREE
Add a New DNS Record
- Click the NEW DNS RECORD button.
Select the type of record you need to add.
Supported Record Types:
Type | Description |
---|---|
A Record | Points your domain to a specific IP address |
CNAME | Redirects one domain name to another |
MX Record | Directs email to your mail server |
TXT Record | Commonly used for verification and email authentication (e.g., SPF, DKIM, DMARC) |
SRV Record | Used for advanced services like VoIP or messaging |
⚠️ Be Careful: Entering DNS records incorrectly can cause issues with your website, email, or other connected services. Only make changes if you have clear instructions from a trusted provider.
STEP FOUR
Enter Your DNS Record Details
- Fill in the required fields based on the record type you selected.
- Click SAVE CHANGES to apply your update.
THAT'S IT
DNS Changes May Take Time
Most updates go live within a few minutes, but full propagation across the internet can take up to 48 hours.
