Overview
DNS records control how your domain connects to your website, email provider, verification tools, and other third-party services. If your PhotoBiz website is on Version 9 or higher and your domain is using PhotoBiz AWS Route 53 name servers, you can manage supported DNS records directly inside your PhotoBiz account.
This guide explains how to open your DNS Zone Editor, add a DNS record, save your changes, and understand which system records are required for your PhotoBiz website. By the end of this guide, you will know how to safely manage DNS records for your domain in PhotoBiz.
Before you begin, your domain must be using PhotoBiz AWS Route 53 name servers.
DNS management is not available inside PhotoBiz if your domain is still using legacy Rackspace name servers or third-party name servers. If your domain is using legacy PhotoBiz name servers, see How to Upgrade Your Domain Name Servers.
If your domain is using third-party name servers, such as GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, or another DNS provider, you will need to manage your DNS records through that provider unless you update your name servers to PhotoBiz AWS Route 53.
Most DNS updates begin working within a few minutes. However, full DNS propagation across the internet can take up to 48 hours.
During propagation, some visitors may see the old DNS settings while others see the updated settings. This is normal and depends on how internet providers refresh DNS information.
PhotoBiz supports common DNS record types used for websites, email, domain verification, and third-party services.
Supported record types include:
Only add or edit DNS records when you have exact instructions from a trusted provider. Incorrect DNS changes can affect your website, email, or connected services.
Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click DOMAINS in the left-side menu.
This opens the Domains section, where you can view and manage the domains connected to your PhotoBiz account.
Find the domain you want to update and click MANAGE DNS.
This opens the DNS Zone Editor for that domain. If you do not see MANAGE DNS, your domain may not be using PhotoBiz AWS Route 53 name servers.
Click NEW DNS RECORD to add a record to your DNS zone.
Choose the record type you need to add. The record type should match the instructions provided by your email provider, verification service, or third-party platform.
Enter the required record details, then click SAVE CHANGES.
After saving, your DNS record is added to your domain’s DNS zone. The update may begin working within a few minutes, but full DNS propagation can take up to 48 hours.
Some DNS records are required to keep your PhotoBiz website live and accessible. These system records connect your domain to PhotoBiz hosting and cannot be deleted from the DNS Zone Editor.
The following records are required:
yourdomain.com18.235.135.157*.yourdomain.com18.235.135.157www.yourdomain.comyourdomain.comThese records are required for your PhotoBiz website to function correctly. If you need your domain to point somewhere other than PhotoBiz, contact PhotoBiz Support before making changes so we can help you avoid website or email issues.
Be careful when deleting DNS records. Removing a record can disrupt your website, email, domain verification, or connected third-party services.
Deleted records are not automatically restored. If a record is deleted by mistake, it must be recreated manually with the correct values.
To delete a DNS record:
Always confirm that a DNS record is no longer needed before deleting it. If you are unsure, contact PhotoBiz Support before removing the record.
DNS records are often provided by third-party services when you are connecting email, verifying your domain, or setting up business tools.
Common reasons to update DNS include:
When copying DNS values from another provider, enter the values exactly as they are provided. Small changes, missing characters, or extra spaces can prevent the record from working.
Why do I not see the Manage DNS option?
The MANAGE DNS option is only available when your domain is using PhotoBiz AWS Route 53 name servers. If your domain is using legacy Rackspace name servers or third-party name servers, DNS management will not be available inside your PhotoBiz account.
Can I manage DNS records if my domain uses third-party name servers?
No. If your domain uses third-party name servers, your DNS records are managed by that third-party provider. You can either manage your DNS records through that provider or update your name servers to PhotoBiz AWS Route 53.
Why can’t I delete some DNS records?
Some records are required to keep your PhotoBiz website connected to your domain. These system records cannot be removed because deleting them would prevent your website from loading correctly.
How long does it take for DNS changes to work?
Most DNS changes begin working within a few minutes, but full propagation can take up to 48 hours. During that time, the update may not appear everywhere at the same time.
What should I do if I entered a DNS record incorrectly?
Return to the DNS Zone Editor, review the record, and update it with the correct information. If the record affects your website or email and you are unsure what to change, contact PhotoBiz Support for help.
