Overview
If you use Flodesk for email marketing, Flodesk may ask you to verify your domain by adding DNS records. DNS records help Flodesk confirm that you own your domain and allow Flodesk to send email using your domain.
This guide explains how to connect your domain to Flodesk when your DNS is managed by PhotoBiz. Some PhotoBiz 9 clients can add these records directly inside the Domains section of their account. Other clients, including legacy product users or accounts still using PhotoBiz Rackspace name servers, will need PhotoBiz Support to add the records for them.
PhotoBiz is not affiliated with Flodesk. For help using Flodesk or locating your Flodesk DNS records, please visit Flodesk Support.
Before you begin, make sure you have access to your Flodesk account and your PhotoBiz account.
You will also need the DNS records provided by Flodesk. These may include TXT, CNAME, or other record types depending on Flodesk’s current verification requirements.
Most DNS updates begin working within a few minutes, but full DNS propagation can take up to 48 hours across the internet. If Flodesk does not verify your domain immediately, wait and try again later.
Log in to your Flodesk account and go to the domain verification area.
Choose the option to verify your domain manually. Flodesk will display the DNS records that need to be added to your domain. Keep this page open so you can copy each record exactly as Flodesk provides it.
If you are not sure where to find these records, use Flodesk’s domain verification guide or contact Flodesk Support for help.
Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click DOMAINS in the left-side menu.
This opens the Domains section of your PhotoBiz account. From here, you can review your domain settings and check whether DNS management tools are available for your domain.
Find the domain you want to connect to Flodesk.
If you see a MANAGE DNS option next to your domain, your domain is using a DNS setup that allows you to manage records directly inside PhotoBiz. This is common for clients using PhotoBiz 9 with PhotoBiz-managed Route 53 name servers.
Click MANAGE DNS to open the DNS Zone Editor.
If you do not see MANAGE DNS, your account may be using a legacy PhotoBiz product or PhotoBiz Rackspace name servers. In that case, PhotoBiz Support will need to add the Flodesk DNS records for you.
If you have access to the DNS Zone Editor, click NEW DNS RECORD.
Choose the record type provided by Flodesk, such as TXT or CNAME. Copy and paste the record name, value, and any other required details exactly as they appear in Flodesk.
Repeat this process for each DNS record Flodesk provides. After adding the records, save your changes.
Return to Flodesk and complete the domain verification process.
If Flodesk does not verify the domain right away, allow time for DNS propagation and try again later. DNS updates can take up to 48 hours, although they are often active much sooner.
Once verification is complete, Flodesk should show that your domain is connected or verified.
If you do not see the MANAGE DNS option in your PhotoBiz account, PhotoBiz Support will need to add the Flodesk records for you.
This usually applies if:
When contacting Support, include the full DNS records provided by Flodesk. Be sure to send the record type, name or host, value or target, and any TTL details if Flodesk provides them.
Flodesk may provide multiple DNS records. Each record must be added separately.
Copy and paste DNS records exactly as Flodesk provides them. Small changes, missing characters, or extra spaces can prevent verification from working.
If your domain uses name servers outside of PhotoBiz, you will need to add the records wherever your DNS is managed. This may be your domain registrar or another DNS provider.
PhotoBiz can only add or edit DNS records when your domain’s DNS is managed by PhotoBiz.
Why do I not see MANAGE DNS in my PhotoBiz account?
The MANAGE DNS option appears only for domains using supported PhotoBiz DNS management. If you are using a legacy product or older PhotoBiz Rackspace name servers, the DNS Zone Editor may not be available in your account. Contact PhotoBiz Support and we can help determine the next step.
Can PhotoBiz help me find my Flodesk DNS records?
Flodesk provides the DNS records inside your Flodesk account. PhotoBiz can help add the records if your DNS is managed by PhotoBiz, but Flodesk Support is the best resource for help locating or understanding Flodesk verification settings.
Why is Flodesk not verifying my domain after I added the records?
DNS changes can take time to update across the internet. Wait and try again later. If it has been more than 48 hours, review the records to make sure they were copied exactly as Flodesk provided them.
Can I use Flodesk if my website is hosted with PhotoBiz?
Yes. Connecting your domain to Flodesk for email verification does not prevent you from using your PhotoBiz website. The DNS records provided by Flodesk are added alongside your existing website records.
