How to Download Website Images Using the Image Clipboard in PhotoBiz

Overview

You can use the PhotoBiz Image Clipboard and Client Galleries to download images that are currently used on your Website Builder pages. This is helpful when you need a backup of your website images, especially before canceling your PhotoBiz account or if you no longer have copies of the files on your computer or external storage.

This guide explains how to copy website images to the Image Clipboard, add those images to a temporary Client Galleries event, and request a ZIP file containing the images.

This process does not automatically collect every image stored in your PhotoBiz account. You must copy the images you want to download from each Website Builder page and block where they are used.

Important Before You Begin

This process only works with images that are currently used in Website Builder blocks and are accessible from your account. Images that have been deleted cannot be recovered using this method.

Copying images to the Image Clipboard does not remove or change the images on your live website.

If you are planning to cancel your PhotoBiz account, complete your image and file downloads before canceling so you still have access to the Website Builder, Client Galleries, and other account tools.

This process is specifically for images used on Website Builder pages. Images or files stored in Client Galleries, Files, Blog posts, or other areas of your account may need to be downloaded separately.

How This Process Works

The Image Clipboard acts as a temporary holding area for images in your PhotoBiz account.

You will first copy images from your Website Builder blocks into the Image Clipboard. You will then create a temporary Client Galleries event and insert the Clipboard images into that event.

Once the images are in the Client Galleries event, you can use DOWNLOAD GALLERY to request a ZIP file by email.

STEP ONE

Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu.

This opens your Website Builder, where you can access the pages and blocks that contain the images you want to download.

STEP TWO

Click the website page that contains the images you want to copy to the Image Clipboard.

You can copy images from website blocks that support image content, such as Images Blocks, Banner Blocks, List Blocks, and Text plus Image Blocks. Open the page so you can access the block settings.

STEP THREE

Click the block that contains the image or images you want to copy.

The block settings will open on the right side of your screen. In the image panel, you will see thumbnail previews of the images currently used in that block.

STEP FOUR

Click and hold your mouse inside the image panel, then drag the teal selection box over one or more images you want to copy.

Selected images will be outlined in green. You can select one image or multiple images at the same time.

STEP FIVE

Click and hold your mouse on the selected images, then drag them to the CLIPBOARD button.

Release your mouse to copy the selected images into the Image Clipboard. This creates a copy of the images in the Clipboard and does not remove them from your website page.

STEP SIX

Repeat this process for any additional website pages or blocks that contain images you want to download.

Make sure you review each page where images are used. This is especially important if you are downloading images before canceling your account or trying to rebuild your image backup after a computer or storage issue.

STEP SEVEN

Click CLIENT GALLERIES in the left-side menu.

This opens your Client Galleries control panel. You will use this section to create a temporary gallery that allows your copied website images to be downloaded together.

STEP EIGHT

Click the NEW EVENT button to create a new gallery.

Enter a name such as Website Image Download so the gallery is easy to identify. Scroll to the bottom and click CREATE EVENT. The new event will open automatically.

STEP NINE

Inside your new event, click the CLIPBOARD button.

This opens the Image Clipboard so you can access the images you copied from your Website Builder pages.

STEP TEN

Select the images you want to insert into the Client Galleries event.

You can choose individual images or click Select All to select all images in the current view. If your Clipboard contains multiple pages of images, select all images on the current page, click INSERT, then repeat this process for each additional page of Clipboard images.

STEP ELEVEN

After your images have been inserted into the Client Galleries event, click the DOWNLOAD GALLERY button in the top-right corner of the event.

This opens the download options for the gallery.

STEP TWELVE

Enter the email address where you want to receive the download link.

Choose your preferred file resolution, then click SEND FILES. PhotoBiz will process the gallery and send a download link to the email address you entered.

FINAL STEP

Check your email for the download link.

Open the email and click the link to download your ZIP file. The download link is valid for 7 days from when it is sent. After the ZIP file downloads, extract it on your computer so you can access the image files.

Once you have confirmed that your images downloaded successfully, you can delete the temporary Client Galleries event if you no longer need it.

Additional Backup Recommendations

This process downloads images that you manually collect from your Website Builder pages. It should not be treated as a complete backup of everything stored in your PhotoBiz account.

If you are preparing to cancel your account or create a complete personal backup, review other areas where your images and files may be stored.

You may also need to download:

  • Client Galleries events using DOWNLOAD GALLERY
  • Files stored in the FILES section
  • Images uploaded separately to Blog posts or other account areas
  • Other files or content you want to keep after your PhotoBiz account is closed

Complete these downloads while you still have access to your account.

Additional Options or Helpful Notes

Additional Options or Helpful Notes

Duplicate Images

The Image Clipboard helps prevent duplicate copies of the same image from being added repeatedly. This is helpful when the same image is used on multiple website pages or blocks.

Organizing the Image Clipboard

You can organize images in the Clipboard into folders if you are working with a large number of files. This can make it easier to manage images before inserting them into your Client Galleries event.

Download Resolution Options

Available download resolutions may include:

  • Web Resolution
  • High Resolution
  • Original Files

The resolutions available depend on how the image was originally uploaded and stored in your PhotoBiz account.

Original Files

The Original Files option is only available when an original-resolution version of the image was stored using the Original Files upgrade.

The standard Website Package allows image files up to 4MB to be uploaded. Files larger than 4MB require the Original Files upgrade, which allows files up to 50MB to be uploaded to the account.

Enabling Original Files later does not recreate or restore an original-resolution file that was not stored when the image was originally uploaded.

Download Email

Large image sets may take longer to prepare before the email is sent.

If you do not see the download message in your inbox, check your spam or junk folder and verify that you entered the correct email address.

Troubleshooting or FAQs

Why don’t I see the Original Files option?

Original Files is only available when an original-resolution version of the image was stored using the Original Files upgrade.

If the original file was not stored when the image was uploaded, Original Files will not be available for that image.

Can I download all of my website images at once?

You can download all of the website images that you have copied to the Image Clipboard and inserted into your temporary Client Galleries event.

There is not a single command that automatically finds and downloads every image used throughout your Website Builder. You must review your pages and copy the images you want to include.

What if my Image Clipboard has more than one page of images?

Click SELECT ALL on the current Clipboard page, then click INSERT. Move to the next page and repeat the process until you have inserted all of the images you want into the Client Galleries event.

What happens if the same image is used on multiple website pages?

The Image Clipboard helps prevent duplicate copies of the same image from being added repeatedly.

You should still review each page to make sure you have collected all of the different images you want to download.

Will copying images remove them from my website?

No. Copying an image to the Image Clipboard creates a copy that you can use elsewhere in your PhotoBiz account.

The image remains in its Website Builder block and your live website is not changed.

Can this process recover images that were deleted from my website?

No. This process only works with images that are still accessible from Website Builder blocks in your PhotoBiz account.

Deleted images cannot be recovered using the Image Clipboard.

Can I use this to back up my entire PhotoBiz account?

No. This process is specifically for collecting images used in Website Builder blocks.

Client Galleries, Files, Blog content, and other account content may need to be downloaded or saved separately.

Should I download my images before canceling my PhotoBiz account?

Yes. Download any images, files, galleries, and other content you want to keep before canceling your account.

Once your account access ends, you may no longer be able to use the Website Builder, Image Clipboard, Client Galleries Dashboard, or other download tools.
