Drop-down menus help you organize your website navigation by grouping related pages or links under a single menu item. This keeps your navigation clean, professional, and easy for visitors to browse, especially on mobile devices. In this guide, you will learn how to create a drop-down menu and add pages or links to it using the PhotoBiz Website Builder.
By the end of this article, you will have a fully functional drop-down menu in your site navigation.
Before you begin, keep the following limitations in mind:
Drop-down menus can only contain pages and external links
You cannot place a drop-down inside another drop-down
Drop-down menus are containers only and cannot contain content blocks
These rules ensure your navigation remains mobile-friendly and easy to use.
Log into your PhotoBiz account and click WEBSITE from the left-hand menu. This opens the Website Builder where you manage your pages and navigation.
Click the NEW PAGE button at the top of the Website Builder. From the list of page types, select DROP DOWN.
This creates a new drop-down container in your navigation instead of a standard page.
Name your drop-down menu. When the right-side settings panel opens, enter the name you want visitors to see in your navigation.
From this same panel, choose the visibility status for the drop-down:
Visible allows the drop-down to appear in your navigation
Hidden keeps it out of view while you work
Disabled removes it from navigation without deleting it
Your drop-down menu is now created and ready to organize.
Adding Pages to Your Drop-Down
Add pages or external links to your drop-down using drag and drop.
Click and hold the page or link you want to include. Drag it slightly to the right until it appears nested under the drop-down menu name. Release your mouse to place it inside the drop-down.
Repeat this process for each page or link you want grouped under that menu.
Review your navigation to confirm the pages appear correctly under the drop-down menu. When published, visitors will see the drop-down expand when they hover over or tap the menu item, depending on their device.
If you do not see the expected result, confirm the drop-down and its pages are set to Visible.
Pro Tip
You can set the Page Visibility of a page inside your drop-down to Hidden if you want to include landing pages that don’t appear in your main navigation.Drag-and-drop navigation editing is not supported on phones or tablets. Use a desktop or laptop with a mouse or trackpad.
Pages inside a drop-down can be set to Hidden if you want them accessible by direct link but not visible in the main navigation.
You can rearrange the order of pages inside a drop-down at any time by dragging them up or down.
