How to Use DuoBuild in the PhotoBiz Website Builder

DuoBuild is a feature in PhotoBiz 9 that allows certain blocks to be placed side by side on any page in the Website Builder. Instead of stacking content vertically, DuoBuild lets you drag supported blocks next to each other to create two-column layouts. This article explains how DuoBuild works, which blocks support it, and how to use it when building your website pages.

What Is DuoBuild?

DuoBuild is not a separate page layout or setting. It is a feature that applies to specific block types in the Website Builder.

When DuoBuild-compatible blocks are added to a page, you can drag them side by side to create a two-column layout. The blocks function the same way they normally do, but instead of stacking vertically, they align next to each other.

DuoBuild layouts are fully responsive and automatically adjust for desktop, tablet, and mobile screens.

Blocks That Support DuoBuild

The following block types support DuoBuild functionality:

Title Block
Text Editor Block
Text + Image Block
Images Block
List Block
Banner Block
Video Block
Form Block
Button Block
HTML Block

Only these block types can be placed side by side using DuoBuild. Other block types will continue to stack vertically.

STEP ONE

Log into your PhotoBiz account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu.

STEP TWO

Open or create a page.

Select an existing page to edit, or create a new page where you want to use DuoBuild to put 2 blocks side by side.

DuoBuild can be used on any page in the Website Builder.

STEP THREE

Add DuoBuild-compatible blocks.

Add one supported block type to your page.

Add a second supported block type to the same area of the page.

If your page already has content, you can also move existing supported blocks into position.

STEP FOUR

Drag blocks side by side.

Click and drag one supported block next to another supported block.

When the blocks are positioned correctly, they will snap into a side-by-side, two-column layout. This creates the DuoBuild effect.

STEP FIVE

Edit and preview your layout.

Edit each block individually using its block editor.

Preview your page on desktop and mobile views to confirm the layout displays correctly on all screen sizes.

Additional Notes

DuoBuild works only with the block types listed above. Unsupported blocks cannot be placed side by side.

Title Blocks used in DuoBuild layouts still apply H1 styling. For SEO best practices, use only one Title Block as the primary H1 per page.

If you need additional headings within a DuoBuild section, use a Text Editor Block and apply H2 or H3 styling.

Using DuoBuild on Older PhotoBiz Sites

DuoBuild is available only on PhotoBiz 9 websites.
