How to Use the HTML Block on Your PhotoBiz Website

Overview

The HTML Block lets you add custom HTML or third-party embed code to a page on your PhotoBiz website. You can use it to display forms, booking widgets, live chat tools, social media feeds, badges, and other embedded content.

This guide explains how to add an HTML Block, paste your code, and customize the block’s background. You will also learn how third-party code can affect your public website and the PhotoBiz Website Builder.

PhotoBiz Support can help you add an HTML Block, locate existing code, and paste code you already have. PhotoBiz Support cannot create, edit, troubleshoot, or guarantee the performance of custom code or third-party services.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have the complete HTML, embed code, or script provided by the third-party service you want to use.

Only add code from a source you know and trust. Third-party code can affect how page content loads on both your public website and inside the PhotoBiz Website Builder.

STEP ONE

Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu.

This opens the Website Builder, where you can manage your pages and add content blocks.

STEP TWO

Click the page where you want to add the HTML Block. You can use an existing page or create a new page before continuing.

Locate the HTML Block on the right side of the Website Builder. Click the HTML Block icon to add it to the bottom of the page.

To place the block in a specific location, click and hold the HTML Block icon. Drag it onto the page and release it when the teal placement line appears where you want the block to display.

STEP THREE

Click inside the HTML Block or click the pencil icon in the top-right corner of the block.

Click Advanced to open the HTML settings.

Paste the complete HTML, embed code, or script provided by the third-party service into the code field.

Review the code before saving to make sure you copied the entire embed code. Missing characters or incomplete code may prevent the content from loading correctly.

Click Save Changes when you are finished. The Save button automatically applies the update to your website.

FINAL STEP

Review the page on your public website and confirm that the embedded content appears in the correct location and works as expected.

Test any forms, buttons, links, booking tools, or other interactive features included with the embedded content. You should also review the page on both desktop and mobile devices because third-party content may display differently depending on the available screen size.

Return to the page inside the PhotoBiz Website Builder and confirm that the page and its content blocks still load correctly in your control panel.

If the public page or Website Builder stops loading, displays incorrectly, or becomes difficult to edit, remove the third-party code from the HTML Block and click SAVE CHANGES. Contact the code provider or your web developer for help correcting the code.

Styling Your HTML Block

You can customize the background of an individual HTML Block without changing the background settings for other blocks on your website.

Background Color

Use the background color setting to display a specific color behind your HTML Block content.

Click the color square to choose a color. You can also enter a HEX color code when you need to match a specific brand color.

Click Save Changes after updating the background color.

Background Image

You can also add a background image to the HTML Block.

To add a background image, click the image upload area to upload your own file or choose an image from the Background Library.

Under Background Settings, choose how the image should appear behind the block content:

  • Tile: Repeats the image to fill the available background area
  • Top Left: Aligns the image to the top-left corner of the block
  • Centered: Centers the image in the available background area
  • Cover: Scales the image to cover the full background area

Click Save Changes to apply your background image settings.

Common Uses for the HTML Block

You can use an HTML Block to add many types of third-party content, including:

  • Custom forms
  • Booking and scheduling widgets
  • Live chat tools
  • Social media feeds
  • Customer review badges
  • Awards and certification badges
  • Embedded maps
  • External calculators or tools
  • Other third-party widgets

Some third-party tools require an active account, paid subscription, or additional configuration through the provider. Adding the embed code to your website does not activate or configure the outside service.

When a provider gives you updated embed code, return to the HTML Block and replace the previous code with the new version.

Third-Party Code and Page Loading

Third-party code can interfere with content loading on both your public website and inside the PhotoBiz Website Builder. It may also affect page speed, mobile responsiveness, block editing, or the appearance of other content on the page.

After adding new code, check the following:

  • The public page loads completely
  • Other blocks on the page still display correctly
  • The page opens correctly in the Website Builder
  • You can edit and rearrange the page blocks
  • The embedded content works on desktop and mobile devices
  • The page does not become noticeably slower

If a problem begins after you add or update third-party code, remove the code from the HTML Block and click Save Changes. Review the page again to confirm that removing the code resolves the issue.

PhotoBiz Support can help you locate the HTML Block and remove the code. The third-party provider or your web developer must troubleshoot or correct the code itself.

Using the HTML Block with DuoBuild

The HTML Block supports DuoBuild. When you place it next to another supported block, the two blocks automatically snap into a two-column layout.

The following blocks support DuoBuild:

  • Text Editor Block
  • Text + Image Block
  • Images Block
  • List Block
  • Banner Block
  • Video Block
  • Form Block
  • Button Block
  • HTML Block

The appearance of embedded content inside a DuoBuild layout depends on how the third-party code responds to the available space. Review the layout on desktop and mobile devices after saving.

See DuoBuild Introduction for complete instructions.

Troubleshooting or FAQs

Why is my embedded content not showing?

Confirm that you pasted the complete code provided by the third-party service. Missing characters or incomplete code can prevent the content from loading.

Some widgets also require an active account, paid subscription, domain verification, or additional configuration through the provider’s dashboard.

You can also check the following:

  • Confirm that you clicked Save

  • Request a new copy of the embed code from the provider

  • Confirm that the third-party account or service is active

  • Review the page on your public website

  • Test the page in another browser

  • Check whether a browser extension is blocking the content

Contact the third-party provider if the code is complete but the content still does not display.

What should I do if the page stops loading in the Website Builder?

Third-party code can prevent page content from loading correctly inside the PhotoBiz Website Builder.

Remove the code from the HTML Block and click Save. Then reopen the page and confirm that the Website Builder loads normally.

If you cannot access the HTML Block to remove the code, contact PhotoBiz Support. Support can help remove the code but cannot repair or troubleshoot the third-party code.

What should I do if the code affects my public website?

Remove the third-party code from the HTML Block and click Save. Review the public page again to confirm that it loads and displays correctly.

Contact the code provider or your web developer to request updated code that works with responsive websites.

Can PhotoBiz write custom HTML code for me?

No. PhotoBiz Support does not create, edit, or troubleshoot custom HTML, scripts, widgets, or other third-party code.

PhotoBiz Support can help you add an HTML Block and paste code you already have. Contact the code provider or a web developer if the embedded content does not work correctly.

Why does the embedded content look different on mobile devices?

The appearance and mobile behavior of embedded content are controlled by the third-party code.

Contact the provider if the content is too wide, difficult to use, cut off, or does not adjust correctly on smaller screens.

Is third-party code supported by PhotoBiz?

You can add third-party code through an HTML Block, but PhotoBiz cannot guarantee that outside code will work with every browser, device, page layout, or future system update.

The third-party provider is responsible for maintaining and supporting its code.

Do I need to publish my website after saving?

No. Click Save to apply the update to your website. There is no separate publish button.
