A pop-up newsletter sign-up form is one of the easiest and lowest-effort ways to grow your audience. Once it is live, it automatically collects email addresses and stores them in your Contacts section using a tag. You can then send promotions, mini session announcements, blog updates, and studio news using the Email Marketing tool included with your membership.
PhotoBiz memberships include up to 10,000 marketing emails per month, so you can grow and market to your list without paying for a separate email platform.
By the end of this guide, you will have a live pop-up on your website that builds your email list automatically.
Log into your PhotoBiz account and click FORMS in the left-side menu.
You will first create your newsletter subscriber form. Then you will connect that form to a pop-up.
Click the Create New Form button.
Under Lead Capture, select the Newsletter Sign-Up form template.
This template is designed to collect email addresses and automatically store subscribers inside your Contacts section.
Click Add a Tag and type Newsletter.
Tags allow you to group contacts together. Anyone who signs up through this form will automatically receive the Newsletter tag. Later, when creating an email campaign, you can select this tag to send messages only to your subscribers.
This is what makes your pop-up a powerful list-building system with very little ongoing effort.
Hover over the left-side menu and click MARKETING.
In your Marketing control panel, click POP UP BUILDER at the top center of the screen.
The Pop-Up Builder is included with your Website Package and allows you to display forms automatically on your website.
Click NEW POP UP and choose the style of pop-up you want to use.
Select a layout that fits your branding and marketing message.
A menu will open on the right-hand side. Scroll through the layout library and locate the Subscribe pop-up styles.
Choose the design you would like to use.
Click EDIT in the top-right corner of the pop-up editor.
This allows you to customize the layout and connect your newsletter form.
Click on FORM, then select your Newsletter form from the list.
You can customize:
Headline text
Description text
Button text
Colors
Fonts
Overall styling
Clearly explain why someone should subscribe. You might promote early access to mini sessions, exclusive offers, seasonal promotions, or helpful photography tips.
Click SETTINGS to adjust how your pop-up behaves.
You can:
Rename the pop-up (for internal organization)
Set when it appears:
0 seconds (immediately)
5 seconds
10 seconds
30 seconds
Most photographers choose a short delay so visitors have time to view the page before the pop-up appears.
When you are finished customizing your pop-up, close the editor and click PUBLISH in the upper-right corner.
Your pop-up is now live on your website.
Every new subscriber will automatically be added to your Contacts section with the Newsletter tag applied. Your list will begin growing without any additional work.
