Adding meta data to your products helps search engines understand what your product pages are about. This improves your chances of appearing in search results and helps the right clients find your products. In this guide, you will learn how to access the SEO settings for a product and properly add meta titles, descriptions, and keywords. By the end, your product pages will be better optimized for search visibility.
Each product in PhotoBiz has a primary (canonical) URL. This is the version of the page that search engines index and display in search results.
The canonical URL for your product will follow this format:
https://www.yourdomain.com/product-page/product-name
Your product may also be accessed through category or collection URLs. PhotoBiz automatically uses canonical tags to tell search engines which version is the main page for that product.
The meta data you add in the SEO & SEARCH section applies to this canonical product page.
If you want to learn more about how this works, see: How Canonical Tags Work with Products on PhotoBiz ECommerce
Log into your PhotoBiz account and click on ECOMMERCE in the left-side menu.
Mouse over the SELL ONLINE option at the top of your control panel and select PRODUCTS from the dropdown menu.
Click on the product you want to edit, or click NEW PRODUCT if you are creating a new one. If you have multiple pages or categories of products, you can use the search bar to locate an existing product you want to add meta data to.
Scroll down within the product editor and locate the SEO & SEARCH section.
This is where you control how your product appears in search engines.
By default, the SEO Preferences are set to Auto. This uses the product name and description to generate the meta title, meta description, and meta keywords. You can change the button to button and customize the meta data here.
Click the SAVE CHANGES button to apply your new meta data to your individual product.
Use the following fields to optimize your product:
Meta Title
This is the title that appears in search engine results.
Keep it clear and include keywords your clients are likely to search for.
Example: Wedding Photo Album – Custom Leather Cover
Meta Description
This is the short summary shown under the title in search results.
Write a concise sentence that explains the product and encourages clicks.
Example: Order a custom-designed wedding album with premium materials and professional print quality.
Meta Keywords
Add relevant search terms related to your product.
Focus on what your clients would type into Google.
Use specific, descriptive product names
Include photography-related keywords (e.g., prints, albums, canvases)
Avoid keyword stuffing
Keep titles under 60 characters when possible
Keep descriptions under 160 characters for best display in search results
Meta data does not immediately update in search engines. It can take time for Google to reindex your page.
Your product page layout is controlled by your Product Detail Page layout in the Website Builder.
Each product has its own unique URL, which can be indexed by search engines when properly optimized.
