How to Submit Your Sitemap to Bing Webmaster Tools

This guide explains how to verify your PhotoBiz website with Bing Webmaster Tools and submit your sitemap. Once submitted, Bing can review your sitemap and use it to help crawl your website more efficiently.

Important Note About Bing Webmaster Tools

Bing Webmaster Tools is a third-party service owned and managed by Microsoft. PhotoBiz is not associated with Bing or Microsoft, and PhotoBiz does not control Bing’s verification process, crawl schedule, indexing decisions, search rankings, or reporting tools.

STEP ONE

Open a new browser tab and go to Bing Webmaster Tools. If you already have an account, log in. If you do not have an account, follow Bing’s prompts to create one.

Once you are logged in, choose the option to add your website manually. Enter the full domain name for your PhotoBiz website.

STEP TWO

Verify your website using the HTML Meta Tag option in Bing Webmaster Tools.

Inside Bing Webmaster Tools, select the HTML Meta Tag verification method. Copy the meta tag exactly as Bing provides it.

Next, log in to your PhotoBiz account and click Website in the left-side menu. At the top center of your Website control panel, click Tracking. In the Tracking section, locate the Head area.

Paste the Bing meta tag exactly as provided into the Head area, then click Save Changes.

Return to Bing Webmaster Tools and complete the verification process. Once Bing confirms the meta tag, your website will show as verified inside your Bing Webmaster Tools account.

STEP THREE

Submit your sitemap in Bing Webmaster Tools.

After your website is verified, click Sitemaps in the left-side menu inside Bing Webmaster Tools. This area allows you to submit your website sitemap so Bing can review the pages available on your site.

STEP FOUR

Click the Submit Sitemap button.

Bing will open a field where you can enter your sitemap address.

FINAL STEP

Enter your sitemap URL and submit it.

Your sitemap URL will usually use this format:

https://www.yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml

Replace www.yourdomain.com with your actual website domain. After entering your sitemap URL, click Submit.

Once your sitemap is submitted, Bing Webmaster Tools may show details such as when the sitemap was submitted and when Bing last crawled it. Bing controls how often your sitemap is crawled and which pages are indexed.
