How Do I Customize Fonts In My Page Blocks?

How to Customize Fonts in Individual Blocks on Your PhotoBiz Website

Overview

Every block in the PhotoBiz Website Builder includes font settings that allow you to customize the typography used within that block. The specific font areas available depend on the type of block, the selected layout, and the content included in the block.

For each available font area, you can change the font face, font size, letter spacing, and line height. Customizing fonts at the individual block level overrides the corresponding global font settings in your website's DESIGN settings.

This guide walks you through opening a block, choosing a font, adjusting its typography settings, and understanding how individual block settings work with your global website fonts.

STEP ONE

Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu. This opens the Website Builder.

STEP TWO

Click the name of the page that contains the block you want to customize.

The page will open in the Website Builder so you can edit its blocks and settings.

STEP THREE

Click the block you want to customize.

The settings for that block will open in the right-side panel.

STEP FOUR

Click FONTS in the right-side block settings.

Every Website Builder block includes a Fonts section. The specific font areas you see depend on the block type, the layout you are using, and the content included in the block.

For example, a block may include font settings for titles, headings, paragraphs, buttons, or other text elements.

STEP FIVE

Hover over the font area you want to customize and click the pencil icon that appears.

This opens the font settings for that specific text area.

STEP SIX

Click the current font to open the PhotoBiz font bank.

The PhotoBiz font bank displays your CURRENT FONT at the top of the panel. Use the FILTER BY options to browse available fonts, including Recently Used, MY FONTS, ALL, SERIF, SANS-SERIF, MONOSPACE, SCRIPT, and HANDWRITTEN.

MY FONTS displays the fonts selected in your website's global DESIGN font settings, while Recently Used shows fonts you have recently applied while editing your website.

Click the font you want to use, then save your selection. The font you choose will override the corresponding global font setting for that font area in the selected block.

STEP SEVEN

Hover over Size, Letter Spacing, or Line Height and click the pencil icon to customize that setting.

A preview will open for the selected setting. Use the controls to decrease or increase the value. The preview updates as you make changes so you can see the effect before saving.

You can customize:

  • Font Size: Controls how large or small the text appears.
  • Letter Spacing: Controls the amount of space between individual characters.
  • Line Height: Controls the vertical space between lines of text.

FINAL STEP

Finish adjusting the font face, font size, letter spacing, and line height until the text looks the way you want. Click SAVE CHANGES to apply your adjustments.

Your custom font settings will now apply to that font area within the selected block. These settings override the corresponding global font settings from your website's DESIGN settings.

How Individual Block Fonts Work With Global Fonts

Your global font settings under DESIGN control the default typography used throughout your PhotoBiz website.

When you customize a font setting within an individual block, that setting overrides the corresponding global setting for that specific font area.

For example, if your global paragraph font is set to one font but you choose a different paragraph font inside a specific block, that block will use the customized font instead of the global paragraph font.

This allows you to keep consistent typography throughout most of your website while creating unique styling for individual sections when needed.

For information about changing your website's global fonts, see How to Customize Fonts on Your PhotoBiz Website.

Resetting Font Size, Letter Spacing, or Line Height

When you customize Size, Letter Spacing, or Line Height, PhotoBiz marks that setting as customized.

Click the X on the customized indicator to remove the individual setting. The block will then use the current value from your global DESIGN font settings for that option.

This means resetting a customized setting returns it to the current global value rather than restoring an older value that may have previously been used on the block.

Returning a Font Face to a Global Font

If you changed the font face and want to return to one of the fonts used in your global website design, open the font bank again.

Choose the appropriate font from My Fonts. This section reflects the fonts currently selected in your global DESIGN settings.

Font Settings on Desktop and Mobile

You do not need to configure separate font settings for desktop and mobile devices.

Your global font settings and individual block font customizations apply across both desktop and mobile displays.

After making significant typography changes, review your website on different screen sizes to make sure the text remains easy to read.
