Why Your PhotoBiz Website Says “Not Secure” – And How to Fix It
If you’re seeing a “Not Secure” message when visiting your PhotoBiz website, don’t worry. All PhotoBiz 9 websites include SSL encryption (a secure HTTPS connection) with your membership — so your site should be secure.
This guide covers the most common reasons this message appears and how to fix it.
ISSUE ONE: Your Website Is Built on an Older Version of PhotoBiz
Older versions of our website builder (HTML5 Portfolio, Legacy Builder, or BLOG/STORE/BIZSITE) do not support SSL.
STEP ONE
Log into your PhotoBiz account and click on DOMAINS in the left-side menu.
STEP TWO
Look under Main Domain to see which version your site is using.
STEP THREE
If it says HTML5, FLASH/HTML, or BLOG/STORE/BIZSITE, you will need to upgrade to PhotoBiz 9.
FINAL STEP
Move your content to PhotoBiz 9 and publish your new site. SSL will be applied automatically.

ISSUE TWO: SSL Hasn’t Been Activated Yet
Even if your site is built with PhotoBiz 9, SSL may not be turned on.
STEP ONE
Log into your PhotoBiz account and click on DOMAINS from the left-side menu.
STEP TWO
Look for the option to Activate SSL and turn it on.
IMPORTANT: SSL can only be activated if your site is published in PhotoBiz 9.

ISSUE THREE: Your Domain Registration Expired
If your domain name was registered through another company (like GoDaddy, Name Cheap, Network Solutions, etc.) and expired, your website cannot load securely.
STEP ONE
Renew your domain with your registrar.
STEP TWO
Make sure your domain points to your PhotoBiz 9 website.
FINAL STEP
Contact PhotoBiz Support and we will reset your SSL certificate for you.
ISSUE FOUR: You Reactivated a Previously Offline Site
If your PhotoBiz account was offline and you recently reactivated your website, SSL may need to be reset.
SOLUTION
Make sure your domain is pointed to your PhotoBiz 9 site. Then contact us to reset your SSL certificate.
ISSUE FIVE: You Recently Changed Your Domain Name
When you change your domain name, we need to reset your SSL certificate for the new domain.
SOLUTION
Once your domain change is complete, we will reset your SSL automatically for you. No action is needed on your end.
