How to Add a Video to a PhotoBiz Blog Post

Overview

Adding video to a PhotoBiz blog post can help visitors engage with your content and learn more about your work. You can embed videos from YouTube, Livid, Vimeo, Animoto, or another video hosting platform that provides an embed code.

This guide explains how to add a Video Block to a new or existing blog post, enter your video embed code, and save your changes. Once complete, visitors can watch the video directly from your blog post.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • A video uploaded to YouTube, Livid, Vimeo, Animoto, or another video hosting platform that provides an embed code
  • The embed code for your video
  • A new or existing PhotoBiz blog post

For help finding and copying your video embed code, see:

  • How To Get YouTube Video Embed Code
  • How To Get Livid Video Embed Code
  • How To Get Vimeo Video Embed Code
  • How To Get Animoto Video Embed Code

A video link and an embed code are not always the same. Make sure you copy the complete embed code provided through the video platform’s sharing or embedding options before continuing.

STEP ONE

Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click BLOG from the menu on the left side of your dashboard.

STEP TWO

Locate the blog post you want to update and click its title to open the blog editor.

To create a new blog post, click CREATE NEW POST and complete the initial post settings before continuing.

STEP THREE

Locate VIDEO BLOCK in the tools panel on the right side of the blog editor. Click the Video Block to add it to the post, or drag it to the location where you want the video to appear.

STEP FOUR

Click CLICK TO EMBED VIDEO inside the Video Block. The block settings will open on the right side of the blog editor.

FINAL STEP

Paste the complete embed code from your video hosting platform into the EMBED CODE field.

You can also add an optional title and description to display beneath the video. When you are finished, click SAVE CHANGES.

Open the blog post on your website and play the video to confirm that it loads correctly. Your visitors should now be able to watch the video directly from the post.

Additional Options or Helpful Notes

Add a Video Title and Description

The title and description fields are optional. You can use them to provide context about the video or encourage visitors to watch it.

Possible information to include:

  • The name of the video

  • Details about the session, event, or project

  • A summary of what viewers will see

  • A call to action

Leave these fields blank when the surrounding blog post already explains the video.

Choose Videos That Support the Post

Use videos that relate directly to the subject of your blog post. Photographers may use the Video Block to share:

  • Behind-the-scenes footage

  • Wedding or event films

  • Client testimonials

  • Session highlights

  • Venue tours

  • Photography or editing tutorials

  • Promotional videos

Adding a short written introduction before the video can also help visitors understand why they should watch it.

Review the Post on Different Devices

After saving the post, review it on both a computer and a mobile device. Confirm that the video loads, plays correctly, and appears in the intended location.

Troubleshooting or FAQs

Why is my video not appearing?

Open the Video Block and confirm that you pasted the complete embed code into the EMBED CODE field. A standard link copied from your browser or the platform’s basic sharing option may not work as an embed code.

Return to the video hosting platform, locate its embed or website-sharing option, and copy the code again.

Why does the video say it cannot be played?

Review the privacy and sharing settings for the video on its hosting platform. The video must be available to viewers and have embedding enabled.

After updating the settings, refresh the published blog post and test the video again.

Why is the wrong video displayed?

Open the Video Block and delete the existing code from the EMBED CODE field. Paste the embed code for the correct video, then click SAVE CHANGES.

Why are my changes not appearing?

Confirm that you clicked SAVE CHANGES after editing the Video Block. Refresh the published blog post after saving.

If the previous version continues to appear, clear your browser cache or open the post in a private browsing window.

If video work is part of your brand, it is a great idea to include videos in your blog posts to encourage engagement with your brand on your blog. This is an example of a video embedded from Livid.
