PhotoBiz websites can easily integrate with UserWay to help improve website accessibility and support ADA and WCAG best practices. UserWay provides an accessibility widget that can be installed using a simple script added to your PhotoBiz Website Builder. This guide walks you through creating a UserWay account, installing the plugin, and using built-in PhotoBiz features that further support accessibility.
Please Note:
PhotoBiz is not affiliated with UserWay. For questions about pricing, settings, or other details about the plugin, you'll need to contact UserWay Support directly. Before you begin, make sure you have:
An active PhotoBiz website
A UserWay account (free or paid)
Access to the UserWay widget script
Create Your UserWay account
Create a new UserWay account or sign in to an existing account. UserWay offers both free and paid plans depending on your accessibility needs.
After setting up your account, UserWay will provide a widget script for your website. Copy the full script provided in your UserWay dashboard. You will paste this code into your PhotoBiz Website Builder in the next steps.
Log into Your PhotoBiz account
Access your PhotoBiz account via the login page (https://www.photobiz.com/login) and go to your Website Builder.
Click on TRACKING
Inside the Website Builder, click on TRACKING. This section allows you to add third-party scripts and tracking codes to your website.
Paste Your UserWay Code Into the Head or Body Area
Paste the UserWay widget script into either the HEAD or BODY section of the Tracking area. Click SAVE CHANGES at the bottom of the page to complete the installation.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you already have other scripts in your Tracking section, such as Google Analytics or Facebook Pixel, paste the UserWay code outside of those scripts. You can place it above or below existing code, but do not paste it inside another script block.
Confirm Installation and Customize Your Widget
Once your changes are saved, the UserWay widget is installed on your PhotoBiz website. Visit your live site to confirm the widget appears correctly.
You can return to your UserWay account at any time to customize the widget’s icon, colors, position, and accessibility settings.
While UserWay adds powerful accessibility tools to your website, accessibility also depends on how your website content is created. PhotoBiz includes built-in features that support accessibility best practices, and using them correctly is an important part of improving accessibility on your site.
PhotoBiz allows you to add alt text to images used throughout your website. Alt text provides a written description of an image for visitors using screen readers and assistive technology.
Alt text should:
Describe the content or purpose of the image
Be clear and concise
Be added to important images, especially those that convey information or promote services
PhotoBiz also includes Ask PhotoBiz AI, which can automatically generate alt text for images. This can save time and help ensure your images include descriptive, accessibility-friendly text. You can review and edit AI-generated alt text at any time before saving.
Adding alt text improves accessibility and also supports search engine optimization (SEO).
When building pages in the PhotoBiz Website Builder, use proper page titles and headings to organize your content. Clear structure helps visitors and assistive technologies understand your page layout.
Best practices include:
Using a clear page title at the top of each page
Breaking content into sections with headings
Avoiding large blocks of text without spacing or structure
PhotoBiz websites are mobile-friendly and follow standard navigation patterns. To further support accessibility:
Avoid placing important information only inside images
Make sure text is easy to read
Use buttons and links for actions instead of image-only elements
No single tool, plugin, or platform can guarantee full ADA or WCAG compliance. Accessibility is an ongoing process that depends on website structure, content, and third-party tools.
Using PhotoBiz’s built-in features together with an accessibility solution like UserWay can help improve the overall accessibility experience for your visitors.
