Overview
If your main website is hosted outside of PhotoBiz, you can still use PhotoBiz Client Galleries for proofing, event access, and client image delivery. You can connect your galleries by adding a Client Galleries login link to your third-party website.
This guide explains two ways to connect PhotoBiz Client Galleries to a third-party website. You can use your default PhotoBiz Client Galleries login URL for the fastest setup, or you can create a custom subdomain for a more branded experience.
By the end of this guide, your clients will have a clear way to access their PhotoBiz Client Galleries from your website.
Before you begin, make sure you have the following:
There are two common ways to connect PhotoBiz Client Galleries to a third-party website.
Use your default PhotoBiz Client Galleries login URL if you want the fastest setup. This option does not require DNS changes and can usually be added to your website right away.
Use a custom subdomain if you want your Client Galleries login page to use your own domain, such as clients.yourdomain.com/proofing. This option requires access to your domain DNS settings and must be completed by PhotoBiz Support after your DNS record is created.
Use Your Default PhotoBiz Client Galleries Login URL
Every PhotoBiz Client Galleries account includes a default Client Galleries login URL. This URL usually follows this format:
yourstudio.photobiz.com/proofing
You can add this link to your third-party website as a menu item, button, or client access link. This is the easiest option because it does not require changes to your domain DNS records.
Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click CLIENT GALLERIES in the left-side menu. This opens your Client Galleries Dashboard, where you can manage your events, galleries, and Client Galleries settings.
In the Client Galleries Dashboard, click the VIEW SITE link at the top center of your control panel. This opens your Client Galleries login page in a new browser tab or window.
Highlight and copy the website address from your browser address bar. Your Client Galleries login URL will usually be formatted like this:
yourstudio.photobiz.com/proofing
Add this link to your third-party website as a navigation item, button, client access link, or footer link. Your clients can use this page to enter their assigned password and access their images.
Use a Custom Subdomain for Client Galleries
A custom subdomain allows your Client Galleries login page to use your own domain name. For example, instead of sending clients to yourstudio.photobiz.com/proofing, you can send them to a branded URL such as:
clients.yourdomain.com/proofing
Common subdomain options include:
clients.yourdomain.comproofing.yourdomain.comgalleries.yourdomain.comphotos.yourdomain.comChoose a short, clear subdomain that your clients will recognize.
Important Notes About DNS
DNS records are managed through your domain provider or DNS host. This may be the company where your domain was purchased, or it may be the company currently managing your domain settings.
PhotoBiz Support can complete the Client Galleries connection after the correct DNS record is created, but we cannot access or update your third-party DNS account for you.
For this setup, you only need to create a new A-record for the subdomain you want to use. Do not replace or edit the main A-record for your website unless your domain provider specifically instructs you to do so. Changing the wrong DNS record can affect your main website.
DNS changes can also take time to update across the internet. In many cases, the subdomain may begin working within a few hours, but it can take up to 24–48 hours depending on your domain provider.
Log in to the account where your domain DNS records are managed. This is usually your domain registrar or DNS host.
Open the DNS settings for the domain you want to connect to PhotoBiz Client Galleries.
Create a new A-record for the subdomain you want to use for Client Galleries.
For example, if you want clients to visit clients.yourdomain.com/proofing, create an A-record with clients as the host or subdomain.
Use the following DNS settings:
After the record is created, your subdomain should point to PhotoBiz using this format:
clients.yourdomain.com → 18.235.135.157
If you choose a different subdomain, such as proofing, use that value as the host instead.
Save the new DNS record with your domain provider.
If you are not sure how to create an A-record, contact your domain provider or DNS host for help. Let them know you need to create a new A-record for your chosen subdomain and point it to 18.235.135.157.
Contact the PhotoBiz Support Team after your A-record has been created. PhotoBiz Support will complete the Client Galleries connection on our end.
Please provide the custom subdomain you created, such as clients.yourdomain.com, so our team can connect it to your Client Galleries account.
Once the connection is complete, your clients can visit your custom Client Galleries login page using this format:
clients.yourdomain.com/proofing
Open the link in a browser to confirm the Client Galleries login page loads correctly. Your clients can then use this page to access their PhotoBiz Client Galleries.
You can link to your Client Galleries from several places on your third-party website, including:
For best results, use simple wording that clients will understand. Link labels such as Client Galleries, View Your Gallery, Proofing, or Client Login are clear and easy to recognize.
If you are using a custom subdomain, make sure you only update the DNS record for the subdomain. Your main website can remain hosted with your third-party website provider.
My custom subdomain does not load right away. What should I do?
DNS updates may take time to apply. Some providers update quickly, while others can take up to 24–48 hours.
If the subdomain still does not work after that time, confirm with your domain provider that the A-record was added correctly.
Can PhotoBiz update my DNS records for me?
PhotoBiz Support can complete the Client Galleries connection after the DNS record is created, but DNS records are managed by your domain provider or DNS host.
If you need help finding or editing your DNS settings, contact your domain provider.
Will this move my website to PhotoBiz?
No. Connecting PhotoBiz Client Galleries to a third-party website does not move your main website. Your website will remain hosted with your third-party provider.
This setup only gives your clients a way to access PhotoBiz Client Galleries from your website.
What URL should I give my clients?
If you are using your default PhotoBiz Client Galleries login URL, give clients your PhotoBiz proofing link, such as:
yourstudio.photobiz.com/proofing
If you are using a custom subdomain, give clients your custom proofing link, such as:
clients.yourdomain.com/proofing
