How to Move Your Blog to PhotoBiz
Changing your blogging platform often comes with a lot of questions: How do I do it? What happens to my SEO? What happens with my content?
With PhotoBiz, switching is simple. While there isn’t a direct import tool for blog posts, you can easily move your content by copy/pasting your text and re-uploading your images. This also gives you the opportunity to refresh and optimize your posts before publishing them on your new blog.
Follow the steps below to bring new life to your blog.
Before You Begin
Here are a few things to gather before you start moving your blog:
-
Access to your old blog content (text + images)
-
Your Google Analytics login
-
A list of posts you want to transfer or update
-
Your PhotoBiz login
STEP ONE
Check Your Blog Analytics
Quality content is the best way to keep people engaged and improve your website’s performance with search engines.
Look at your Google Analytics to see which articles have brought in visitors over the last 60–90 days. If you have posts that aren’t being read, you can either:
-
Retire those posts, or
-
Refresh and repurpose the content for your new blog.
Use the data to decide which posts are worth keeping.
STEP TWO
Bring Over Your Content
The PhotoBiz blog editor makes it easy to transfer your posts.
-
Copy and paste your text directly into the editor.
-
Upload your images using the image uploader. You can use the Ask PhotoBiz AI tool to add alt text to your blog post images as well.
-
Choose from multiple layouts to display your work beautifully.
Note: Blog posts cannot be imported automatically from another platform. Instead, you’ll copy/paste your text and re-upload your images. This is also a great opportunity to update and optimize your content for SEO.
Your content is automatically optimized for all PhotoBiz designs and is mobile responsive.
STEP THREE
Add Metadata and Tags
PhotoBiz’s Ask PhotoBiz AI tool can help you create metadata based on the prompt you give it. You can leave it as-is or customize it for your needs.
-
Tags allow you to organize posts and help clients find related content.
-
Tags can also be used to display specific posts inside Blog Blocks on your PhotoBiz Website Builder. This makes it easy to highlight posts by topic (like “Weddings” or “Studio Updates”) anywhere on your site.
Don’t forget: Metadata, titles, descriptions, and alt text help search engines like Google understand your content.
STEP FOUR
Publish Your Articles
When recreating your posts, you can:
-
Keep the original publish dates,
-
Use the built-in SEO tools for search engine optimization,
-
Schedule new posts to publish in the future.
Once your articles are ready, they’ll appear in your blog feed based on the publish date you set.
Tip: Add images, galleries, or even videos inside your posts to break up text and make your blog visually engaging.
STEP FIVE
Submit Your Blog to Google
Use Google Search Console to tell Google where to find your blog. Google Search Console is free and will help ensure your posts are indexed quickly.
Note on Links: If you’ve shared links to your old blog on social media, you may want to redirect those pages or repost the links once your new blog is live to keep traffic flowing.
THAT'S IT!
In just five steps, you’ve successfully moved your blog into your PhotoBiz site. All of your content is now under one roof, refreshed, and connected to Google for maximum visibility.
