How to Add Website Search to Your PhotoBiz Website

Overview

Adding website search to your PhotoBiz website gives visitors a quick way to find Blog Posts, ECommerce Products, ECommerce Services, and Scheduler Services. You can display Search with your social media icons or with your website navigation links.

When Search is displayed with your site links, you can choose how it appears and customize its text, icon, border, and colors depending on the display type you select. This guide walks you through enabling and customizing Search using the SITE LINKS / ICONS settings in the PhotoBiz Website Builder.

STEP ONE

This opens the Website Builder, where you can manage your website pages, navigation, design, and other site-wide settings.

STEP TWO

Locate SITE LINKS / ICONS in the left panel of the Website Builder. You will find it below your website pages and above the footer settings.

Click SITE LINKS / ICONS to open the SITE LINKS & ICONS settings in the right-side panel.

STEP THREE

Click SEARCH / CART in the settings panel on the right side.

This section contains separate display settings for website Search and the Website Builder shopping cart. For this guide, you will use the DISPLAY SEARCH settings.

STEP FOUR

Under DISPLAY SEARCH, choose where you want Search to appear.

Choose No if you do not want Search displayed on your website. Choose With Social Media Icons to add a magnifying glass icon alongside your social media icons. The Search icon will match the color of your other social media icons.

Choose With Site Links if you want Search displayed with your website navigation links. Selecting this option also gives you additional choices for how Search looks and which elements you can customize.

STEP FIVE

If you selected With Site Links, use the TYPE dropdown to choose how you want Search to appear in your website navigation.

You can choose Button, Icon Only, Text and Icon, or Text Only. The customization settings available below the TYPE dropdown change based on the option you select.

Adjust the available text, icon, border, or color settings to match your website design.

FINAL STEP

Click Save Changes to apply your Search settings. PhotoBiz automatically applies saved Website Builder changes, so there is no separate publish step.

Visit your website and confirm that Search appears in the location and style you selected. If your website has searchable content, open Search and enter a relevant term to confirm that results appear as expected.

Search Display Options

When you select With Site Links, the TYPE dropdown gives you four ways to display Search:

Button — Adds a Search button to your site links. You can customize the button text and button border color.
Icon Only — Adds a magnifying glass icon. You can customize the icon color and icon border color.
Text and Icon — Adds a magnifying glass icon with the word Search next to it. You can customize the icon color, icon border color, and text color.
Text Only — Adds the word Search to your site links. You can customize the text color.

If you select With Social Media Icons, Search appears as a magnifying glass icon alongside your social media icons and uses the same icon color.

PhotoBiz on-site search can include:

Blog Posts
ECommerce Products
ECommerce Services
Scheduler Services

Search results may use information from:

Titles
Descriptions
Search keywords
Product tags
Service tags
Scheduler tags
Blog tags

Website search does not automatically search every page or every piece of text on your website. It is designed to return supported searchable content.

Helpful Notes

Choose No under DISPLAY SEARCH if you want to remove Search from your website.
The exact location of Search may vary depending on your website design and navigation layout.
With Social Media Icons displays Search as a magnifying glass icon and uses the same icon color as your other social media icons.
With Site Links gives you additional display and customization options.
After saving your changes, check your website on both desktop and mobile devices to make sure Search fits naturally with your navigation.
If Search appears but expected content is missing from the results, review the titles, descriptions, search keywords, and supported tags associated with that content.
