Overview
The PhotoBiz Form & Contract Builder allows you to create custom forms for lead capture, orders, contracts, questionnaires, and more. When a form is used as a standalone form page, you can customize the form background directly inside the Form & Contract Builder.
This guide walks you through how to change the background color or add a background image for a standalone PhotoBiz form. By the end, your standalone form page will have a customized background that displays when clients open the form link.
This guide is for forms used as standalone pages. If you are displaying a form on your website with the Form Block, update the background settings for the Form Block in the PhotoBiz Website Builder instead. For help adding a form to a website page, see How to Use Form Blocks.
Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click FORMS in the left-side menu. This opens the Forms Dashboard.
In the Forms Dashboard, click FORMS at the top center of the control panel.
This opens your list of forms.
Click the name of the form you want to edit.
If you have many forms or organize your forms into categories, use the search bar to quickly find the form you need. You can search by form name instead of scrolling through your full list.
You can also create a new form if you are setting up a form from scratch.
Inside the form editor, click the paint brush icon in the upper-right corner of the page.
This opens the form design settings for the standalone version of your form.
To change the background color, click COLORS.
Update the Background field with the color you want to use for your standalone form page. Choose a color that matches your brand, website, or overall form design.
After selecting your background color, scroll down and click SAVE CHANGES to apply the update.
To add a background image instead of a solid color, click BACKGROUND in the Edit Theme section.
You can upload your own image using Custom Upload, or you can choose an image from the Background Library.
After selecting your background image, choose the display setting that works best for your design. You can tile the image, position it in the top-left corner, center it, or use cover to scale the image so it fills the background area.
Click SAVE CHANGES when you are finished.
Preview your standalone form to make sure the background displays the way you want.
Your selected background color or image will now appear behind your form content when clients open the standalone form page.
The background settings in the Form & Contract Builder apply to the standalone version of your form. This is the version clients see when they open the direct form link.
If your form is placed on a website page using the Form Block, the form appears inside your Website Builder page design. In that case, use the background settings on the Form Block in the Website Builder instead of the form theme settings.
For help adding a form to a website page, see How to Use Form Blocks.
For the most polished look, choose a background that keeps your form fields easy to read. Simple colors, subtle textures, or lightly detailed images usually work best.
If you use a background image, avoid images with busy patterns or high contrast behind text fields. This can make the form harder for clients to complete.
Your background image display options include:
In most cases, Cover works best when you want the image to fill the full background area.
I updated the form background, but it does not appear on my website page
If your form is added to a website page using the Form Block, update the background settings for the Form Block in the PhotoBiz Website Builder. The standalone form background settings do not control the website page or Form Block background.
For help with embedded forms, see How to Use Form Blocks.
My background image does not look right on the form
Try changing the background display setting. Tile is usually the best option when you want the image to fill the full background area.
My form is hard to read after changing the background
Use a simpler background color or image. You can also adjust your form colors in the COLORS section to improve contrast between the form fields and background.
I changed the background, but I do not see the update
Make sure you clicked SAVE CHANGES after updating the background settings. Then refresh the standalone form preview or open the direct form link in a new browser tab.
