How To Use HTML Blocks

Using the HTML Block on Your PhotoBiz Website

Overview

The HTML Block lets you add custom code or third-party embed code to a page on your PhotoBiz website. You can use it to display items such as forms, widgets, badges, live chat tools, social media feeds, or other embedded content.

This article explains how to add an HTML Block to a page, insert your custom code, and adjust background styling options for the block. The HTML Block is best for users who already have embed code from another service or are comfortable working with HTML.

PhotoBiz Support can help you add the HTML Block and paste embed code into your website. However, PhotoBiz Support cannot troubleshoot third-party services, edit external code, or guarantee that outside code will work as expected.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have the HTML, embed code, or script provided by the third-party service you want to use.

STEP ONE

Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu.

This opens your Website Builder, where you can manage your website pages and add new content blocks.

STEP TWO

Click the page where you want to add the HTML Block. You can choose an existing page or create a new page first.

Once you are on the page, add the HTML Block using one of the available block options. You can click the HTML icon on the right side of the screen to quickly add the block to the bottom of the page.

You can also drag and drop the HTML Block into a specific location. Hover over the HTML icon, click and hold, then drag the block to the place where you want it to appear. When you see the teal placement line, release your mouse to drop the block there.

STEP THREE

Click inside the HTML Block, or click the pencil icon in the top-right corner of the block.

Select Advanced to open the HTML settings. A menu appears on the right side of the screen with a text box where you can add your HTML or embed code.

Paste your code into the text box. This code may come from a third-party form provider, live chat service, social media platform, badge provider, or another external tool.

Click Save Changes when you are done. The Save button automatically applies the update to your website.

FINAL STEP

Review your HTML block on your page.

After saving, review the page to confirm the embedded content appears where you placed the HTML Block.

If the content does not display as expected, check the code provided by the third-party service. You may need to contact that service for help with the code, widget settings, or account connection.

Styling Your HTML Block

You can customize the HTML Block background using color and image settings. These settings apply only to this block and can override global design settings for the block area.

Background Colors

Use the background color option to set a specific color behind your HTML Block content.

You can choose a color by clicking the color square, or you can enter a HEX color code if you have a specific brand color you want to use.

Click Save Changes after updating the color.

Background Image

You can also add a background image to the HTML Block.

To add a background image, click the image upload area to upload your own file or choose an image from the Background Library.

Under Background Settings, choose how the image should appear behind the block content:

  • Tile: Repeats the image to fill the available background area
  • Top Left: Aligns the image to the top-left corner of the block
  • Centered: Centers the image in the available background area
  • Cover: Scales the image to cover the full background area

Click Save Changes to apply your background image settings.

Additional Options or Helpful Notes

The HTML Block can be useful for adding third-party tools to your website, including:

  • Custom forms
  • Booking widgets
  • Live chat tools
  • Social media feeds
  • Review badges
  • Awards or certification badges
  • Custom styling snippets
  • Embedded maps or external widgets

Only add code from trusted sources. Third-party scripts can affect how your page loads or displays. If a code provider gives you updated embed code, return to the HTML Block and replace the old code with the new version.

The HTML Block supports DuoBuild. When it is placed next to another supported block, it can automatically snap into a two-column layout.

Troubleshooting or FAQs

Why is my embedded content not showing?

First, confirm that you pasted the full code provided by the third-party service. Some widgets require both an embed code and an active account with the outside provider.

If the code is correct but the content still does not display, contact the third-party provider for help. PhotoBiz Support can help you place the HTML Block, but cannot troubleshoot external code or third-party service settings.

Can PhotoBiz write custom HTML code for me?

No. PhotoBiz does not provide support for third-party code, custom HTML, scripts, widgets, or embedded tools from outside services.

PhotoBiz Support can help you add an HTML Block to your website and paste in code that you already have. However, you are responsible for providing working code from your third-party service or developer.

If the code does not display correctly, breaks your page layout, affects loading, or does not work as expected, you will need to contact the third-party provider or your web developer for help.

Do I need to publish my website after saving?

No. Click Save Changes to apply the update to your website. There is no separate publish button.
