How Do I Set My Currency in my ECommerce?

How to Change Your Currency in PhotoBiz ECommerce

Overview

PhotoBiz ECommerce allows you to choose the currency used for the prices you set throughout your account. You can have one currency applied to your PhotoBiz account at a time.

Changing your currency updates the currency used to display your ECommerce prices, but it does not automatically convert your existing price amounts using an exchange rate. This guide shows you how to change your currency and what to review after you save the new setting.

STEP ONE

Log into your PhotoBiz account and click ECOMMERCE in the left-side menu.

This opens your ECommerce Dashboard, where you can manage your online sales settings.

STEP TWO

At the top of the ECommerce Dashboard, hover over SETTINGS, then click GENERAL from the dropdown menu.

This opens your General Settings.

STEP THREE

In General Settings, locate the CURRENCY dropdown. Click the dropdown and select the currency you want your PhotoBiz ECommerce to use.

You can have one currency applied to your account at a time. After selecting your currency, click SAVE CHANGES.

FINAL STEP

After you click SAVE CHANGES, PhotoBiz will use the selected currency for your ECommerce pricing.

Because you set your own prices in PhotoBiz, your existing numerical price amounts will remain the same. Review your products, services, packages, and other ECommerce pricing after changing currencies and update any amounts manually if needed.

Important: Changing Your Currency Does Not Convert Your Prices

PhotoBiz does not automatically convert your existing prices using a current or live exchange rate.

For example, if you have a product priced at $125.00 USD:

  • Changing your currency to British Pounds will display the price as £125.00.
  • Changing your currency to Thai Baht will display the price as ฿125.00.

The numerical value remains 125.00 until you manually change the price.

If you are moving your business to a different currency, review all of your pricing after making the change so you can set the amounts you want to charge in the new currency.

Available Currencies

The CURRENCY dropdown under ECOMMERCE > SETTINGS > GENERAL shows the currency options currently available in PhotoBiz.

Use the dropdown in your account as the current source for available currencies. This avoids relying on a static list that may change over time.

Using One Currency Per Account

Your PhotoBiz account can use one currency at a time.

You cannot assign different currencies to individual products, services, packages, Client Galleries, or other ECommerce areas. Changing the currency setting applies the selected currency to the ECommerce pricing associated with your account.

For example, you cannot have one product priced in USD and another priced in GBP at the same time.

Merchant Provider Currency Support

Your PhotoBiz currency setting controls the currency used for your ECommerce pricing. Your connected merchant provider is responsible for processing online payments and may have its own requirements for supported currencies and countries.

Before changing currencies for online payments, confirm that your merchant provider supports the currency you plan to use.

Merchant providers may have their own:

  • Supported currencies
  • Country or regional requirements
  • Currency conversion policies
  • Processing fees
  • Account eligibility requirements

Helpful Notes

  • You set and manage your own prices in PhotoBiz.
  • You can have one currency applied to your account at a time.
  • Changing currencies does not automatically calculate new prices using an exchange rate.
  • Review your pricing after changing currencies and update amounts manually as needed.
  • The CURRENCY dropdown in ECOMMERCE > SETTINGS > GENERAL shows the options currently available.
  • Your merchant provider may have different currency or regional restrictions for processing payments.

Troubleshooting and FAQs

Does PhotoBiz automatically convert my prices when I change currencies?

No. PhotoBiz changes the currency used for your pricing but does not calculate new amounts using an exchange rate.

For example, a price of $75.00 USD will display as £75.00 after switching to British Pounds. If you want to charge a different amount in the new currency, you must update the price manually.

Can I use more than one currency on my PhotoBiz account?

No. You can have one currency applied to your PhotoBiz account at a time.

If you change the currency under ECOMMERCE > SETTINGS > GENERAL, the newly selected currency becomes the currency used for your ECommerce pricing.

Can I set different currencies for different products?

No. Individual products cannot use separate currencies. You set the price of each product, service, or package, but all ECommerce pricing uses the currency selected for your account.

Why didn't my price amount change when I selected a new currency?

This is expected. PhotoBiz does not perform automatic exchange-rate conversions.

If an item is priced at 125.00, changing the currency changes how that price is displayed, but the amount remains 125.00 until you manually edit it.

Where can I see the currencies available in PhotoBiz?

Go to ECOMMERCE > SETTINGS > GENERAL and click the CURRENCY dropdown. The dropdown displays the currency options currently available for your account.

Can my merchant provider process every currency available in PhotoBiz?

Not necessarily. Merchant providers have their own supported currencies, countries, and account requirements.

If you accept online payments, confirm that your merchant provider supports the currency you select in PhotoBiz.
