Overview
You can use product tags to control which products appear in a Products Block on your PhotoBiz website. This makes it easy to create collections based on a theme, product type, season, promotion, or another shared attribute without moving products into a different product category.
This guide explains how to add a Products Block to a page and configure it to display only products assigned to specific tags. You can also follow these steps to update an existing Products Block.
Before you begin, make sure the appropriate tag has been added to each product you want to display.
If you have not tagged your products yet, see How to Add Tags to Products in PhotoBiz ECommerce.
Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu.
This opens the Website Builder.
Click the name of the page where you want to display the tagged products.
You can use an existing page or create a dedicated page for the product collection.
Add a Products Block to the page or locate the existing Products Block you want to update.
To add a new block, click the Products Block icon in the block menu on the right side of the Website Builder. Click the icon once to add the block to the bottom of the page, or drag it to the location where you want it to appear. Choose a layout and click Select below the layout you want to use.
To update an existing Products Block, click the pencil icon on the block, and then click Advanced to open its settings in the right-side panel.
Locate the SELECT PRODUCTS section in the right-side panel.
Select DISPLAY ALL PRODUCTS TAGGED WITH: to display products according to their assigned tags.
The product-selection options available may vary depending on the Products Block layout you are using.
Select the product tag or tags you want the Products Block to use, and then click Save Changes.
The Products Block will update to display products assigned to the selected tags. Review the block in the Website Builder to confirm that the correct products appear.
Click VIEW SITE at the top of the Website Builder to review the product collection on your live website.
Create Multiple Product Collections
You can add multiple Products Blocks to the same page and assign different tags to each block. This allows you to create separate product collections without changing your permanent product categories.
For example, you could create collections for:
Featured Products
Holiday Gifts
Limited Editions
Best Sellers
New Products
Products for a specific client or session type
Use Tags Across Different Product Categories
A product tag can group products saved in different product categories. This is useful when products share a theme or promotion but do not belong in the same permanent category.
Update the Collection Automatically
When you add one of the selected tags to another product, that product can appear in the Products Block. Removing the selected tag from a product removes it from the tagged collection.
This can make a tag-based Products Block easier to maintain than selecting products individually.
Change the Products Block Layout
You can change the Products Block layout without recreating the tagged collection. However, the product-selection and styling options available may vary by layout.
For instructions, see How to Change the Layout of a Products Block.
Review the Number of Products Displayed
Some Products Block layouts include settings that control how many products appear when the page first loads. You may also be able to add a Load More Link so visitors can view additional products.
Open the Products Block settings after selecting your tags to review the options available for your chosen layout.
The Product Does Not Appear in the Products Block
Open the product in the ECommerce Dashboard and confirm that the exact tag selected in the Products Block has been added to the product.
Check the spelling of the tag and make sure you did not select a similar tag by mistake.
The Wrong Products Appear
Review the products assigned to the selected tag in the ECommerce Dashboard. Any product using that tag may be included in the Products Block.
Remove the tag from products that should not appear in the collection.
The Tagged Product Option Is Not Available
Products Block settings can vary by layout. Open the block’s layout settings and select a layout that supports displaying multiple products. Single Item layouts are designed to feature one selected product and may not include the same tag-filtering options.
