Overview
The PhotoBiz Client Galleries Block allows you to display Client Gallery events directly on your website, giving customers a convenient place to find and open their galleries. Instead of sharing a separate link for every event, you can create a gallery directory where visitors can browse events and select the one they want to view.
You can organize events by category, such as weddings, school portraits, sports, or mini sessions. Each Client Galleries Block displays events from one selected category, and you can add multiple blocks to display different categories on the same page.
This guide explains how to add and customize a Client Galleries Block, choose which events appear, manage its design and layout, and share Client Gallery event categories with your customers.
Before adding a Client Galleries Block, you need at least one event created in your Client Galleries Dashboard. The block displays existing events; it does not create new Client Gallery events.
If you want to organize events by photography type or session, create your Event Categories and assign events to them before adding the block.
For instructions, see:
Log into your PhotoBiz account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu.
This opens your Website Builder, where you can manage your website pages and content blocks.
Open the website page where you want to display your Client Gallery events, or create a new page.
Locate the CLIENT GALLERIES Block in the available blocks on the right side of your Website Builder.
Click the CLIENT GALLERIES Block icon to add it to the bottom of your page.
To place the block in a specific location, click and hold the block icon, then drag and drop it into your preferred position on the page.
You can reposition the block later by dragging it to another location.
For instructions on creating new website pages, see How to Add or Delete Pages on Your PhotoBiz Website.
Choose the starting design for your Client Galleries Block.
PhotoBiz provides six options: one blank block and five predesigned Client Galleries Blocks.
Blank: Adds a Client Galleries Block without a predesigned layout. You'll need to select the Event Category you want to display.
Client Galleries 1–5: Provides five predesigned blocks with different layouts and styling. PhotoBiz automatically selects the first Event Category from your Client Galleries Dashboard.
Click SELECT beneath the design you want to use.
All six options can be customized after they're added to your website. You can change the event category, layout, colors, fonts, spacing, and other available settings.
After adding your Client Galleries Block, open the CLIENT GALLERIES settings to choose which events appear on your website.
Under SELECT EVENTS, select the Event Category you want to display.
If you selected a blank block, choose the category you want to show. If you selected a predesigned block, the first category from your Client Galleries Dashboard is already assigned, but you can select a different category.
Under SHOW EXPIRATION DATE, select YES to display event expiration dates or NO to hide them.
Each Client Galleries Block displays events from one selected category. To display another category, add a separate Client Galleries Block.
You can also click MANAGE CLIENT GALLERIES to open your Client Galleries Dashboard if you need to create events, organize categories, or manage existing galleries.
Review your selected Event Category and block settings, then click SAVE CHANGES.
Your changes take effect on your website when they're saved.
Preview your website page and click one of the displayed events to confirm that it opens the correct Client Gallery.
Your Client Galleries Block is now ready for visitors to use.
When visitors open a website page containing a Client Galleries Block, they'll see the Client Gallery events from the category you've selected.
Depending on your selected layout, event settings, and block configuration, each event may display:
Event Cover Image: A preview image representing the event. Events without a cover image can still appear in the block with their event name and other available details.
Event Title: The name of the Client Gallery event, helping visitors identify the gallery they're looking for.
Password Indicator: A lock icon appears beside the event title when the gallery requires a password.
Expiration Date: Displays the event's expiration date when you've enabled SHOW EXPIRATION DATE.
Visitors can click an event to open its gallery. Password-protected events require visitors to enter the event password before accessing the images. Events without password protection can be opened without that additional step.
Once inside a gallery, visitors can view images and use the downloading, favoriting, and purchasing features you've enabled for that event.
The Client Galleries Block can display password-protected and non-password-protected events together without changing the access settings of the individual galleries.
After adding your Client Galleries Block, you can customize its layout, styling, colors, background, fonts, and animations.
Click the block in your Website Builder to open its settings.
The available settings include:
CLIENT GALLERIES: Select the Event Category and choose whether to display expiration dates.
LAST ITEM: Configure an additional link that allows visitors to load more events or navigate to another destination.
LAYOUT: Change how Client Gallery events are arranged and displayed.
STYLING: Adjust spacing, alignment, image borders, and supported mobile display options.
COLORS: Customize text, background, overlay, border, and link colors.
BACKGROUND: Add or change the block's background image.
FONTS: Customize the typography used for event titles, dates, and Last Item Link text.
ANIMATION: Add hover effects to Client Gallery event images.
The available settings may vary depending on the selected layout.
Most sections include SAVE CHANGES, while the LAYOUT section uses individual SAVE buttons for each design.
The LAST ITEM section controls whether an additional link appears at the end of your Client Galleries Block. You can use this feature to let visitors load more Client Gallery events or navigate to another destination.
Under DISPLAY LAST ITEM LINK, select from three options:
None: Does not display an additional link.
Yes, as a "load more link": Allows visitors to load another set of Client Gallery events without leaving the page.
Yes, as a "standard link": Adds a custom link that directs visitors to another website page or supported destination.
Customizing Your Load More Link
When you select Yes, as a "load more link", you can customize the following settings:
LINK TEXT: Enter the text visitors will see, such as "Load More" or "View More Galleries."
LINK STYLE: Select how the link appears within your Client Galleries Block.
Available link styles include:
Button: Displays the Load More Link as a button.
Text: Displays the Load More Link as a text link.
Last Grid Item: Displays the Load More Link as the final item within your Client Galleries grid.
These additional styles are available in layouts that support the Last Item Link, except the Pinboard layout.
The number of events initially displayed depends on the block's layout and its ROWS and COLUMNS settings. If additional events are available, visitors can click the Load More Link to display another set.
Click SAVE CHANGES to apply your settings.
For more information about how the Last Item feature works across different PhotoBiz Website Builder blocks, see How to Use the Last Item Feature in PhotoBiz.
The LAYOUT section allows you to customize how Client Gallery events appear on your website.
PhotoBiz provides eight layouts with different image shapes, event information placement, and navigation styles.
Click LAYOUT in the Client Galleries Block settings to view the available designs. PhotoBiz automatically scrolls to your current layout, which is highlighted with an outline.
Available layouts include:
Modern Square: Displays square-cropped event images with event information over the images.
Modern Portrait: Displays vertically cropped event images with event information over the images.
Modern Landscape: Displays horizontally cropped event images with event information over the images.
Editorial Circle: Displays circular event images with event information below each image.
Editorial Square: Displays square-cropped event images with event information below each image.
Editorial Landscape: Displays horizontally cropped event images with event information below each image.
Editorial Portrait: Displays vertically cropped event images with event information below each image.
Gallery: Features a larger event image with smaller event thumbnails and navigation controls for browsing additional events.
Depending on your selected layout, you can use the ROWS and COLUMNS dropdown menus to control how many events appear and how they're arranged.
Click SAVE beneath your preferred layout to apply your changes.
You can return to this section at any time to change the layout without recreating your Client Galleries Block.
For detailed instructions, see How to Change Your Client Galleries Block Layout.
The STYLING section allows you to customize the appearance, alignment, spacing, and mobile display of your Client Galleries Block without changing the overall design of your website.
Click STYLING in the Client Galleries Block settings to view the available options. Depending on your selected layout, you may see the following settings:
Overlay Opacity: Adjusts the transparency of the overlay displayed over event images.
Title Alignment: Controls how event titles are aligned.
Description Alignment: Adjusts the alignment of event descriptions and supporting information.
Image Border Thickness: Controls the thickness of borders around event images.
Space Between Items: Adjusts the spacing between individual Client Gallery events.
Space Below Blocks: Controls the amount of space beneath the Client Galleries Block.
Space Inside Blocks: Adjusts the spacing inside the Client Galleries Block.
Mobile View: Allows you to select a one-column or two-column arrangement for mobile devices when supported.
Spacing options include None, Ultra Thin, Thin, Medium, and Thick.
Settings that have been changed from their defaults may display a CUSTOMIZED indicator.
After making your adjustments, scroll to the bottom of the STYLING panel and click SAVE CHANGES to apply your updates.
Helpful Tip: Preview your website on desktop and mobile after making styling changes. Check that event images, titles, expiration dates, and navigation elements are easy to see and use on different screen sizes.
The COLORS section allows you to customize the colors used in your Client Galleries Block without changing your website's overall color settings.
Click COLORS in the Client Galleries Block settings to view the available options. Depending on your selected layout, you may see the following settings:
Title Color: Changes the color of Client Gallery event titles.
Text Color: Controls the color of supporting text, such as event expiration dates.
Background Color: Changes the background color of the block.
Overlay Color: Controls the color of overlays displayed over event images in supported layouts.
Last Item Text Color: Changes the text color of the Last Item Link.
Last Item Background Color: Controls the background color of the Last Item Link.
Border Color: Changes the color of borders around event images when borders are enabled.
Click the color swatch or enter a hexadecimal (HEX) color code to select your preferred color.
Settings that have been changed from your website's default colors display a CUSTOMIZED indicator.
After making your adjustments, click SAVE CHANGES to apply the updated colors to your website.
Helpful Tip: Choose colors that provide enough contrast between text, images, and backgrounds. Preview your website on desktop and mobile to make sure event titles, expiration dates, and links remain easy to read.
Click BACKGROUND in the Client Galleries Block editing menu to customize the background displayed behind your block's content.
Under BACKGROUND IMAGE, select from three options:
NO BACKGROUND: Removes the background image and uses the background color selected for the block.
CUSTOM BACKGROUND: Upload your own JPG or PNG background image. For best results, PhotoBiz recommends an image that is 3000 pixels wide by 1730 pixels high.
BACKGROUND LIBRARY: Choose an image from the PhotoBiz Background Library.
If you select CUSTOM BACKGROUND, click ADD FILES to upload an image from your computer, or drag and drop your image into the upload area.
Under BACKGROUND SETTINGS, select how your background image is displayed:
TILE: Repeats the image to fill the background.
TOP LEFT: Positions the image in the upper-left corner of the block.
CENTERED: Positions the image in the center of the block.
COVER: Scales the image to cover the entire background area. Portions of the image may be cropped to fit.
Click SAVE CHANGES to apply your background settings.
Helpful Note: Background images and background colors are controlled separately. Use COLORS to change the block's background color or BACKGROUND to add and position a background image. These changes apply only to the Client Galleries Block and do not affect backgrounds elsewhere on your website.
For more information about these settings, see How to Change a Block Background in PhotoBiz.
The FONTS section allows you to customize the typography used in your Client Galleries Block without changing your website's global font settings.
Click FONTS in the Client Galleries Block settings to view the available options. You can customize fonts for:
Title: Controls the appearance of Client Gallery event titles.
Date: Controls the appearance of event expiration dates.
Last Item Text: Controls the text used for the Last Item Link, such as "Load More."
For each text element, you can customize the font style, size, letter spacing, and line height.
Letter spacing controls the distance between individual characters. Line height controls the vertical space between lines of text.
Settings that have been modified from your website's default fonts display a CUSTOMIZED indicator.
You can adjust these settings independently to create a consistent, readable design that complements your website.
For step-by-step instructions, see How to Change the Fonts on Client Galleries Blocks.
The ANIMATION section allows you to add hover effects to your Client Gallery event images. These effects appear when visitors move their mouse over an image and can make your gallery directory more interactive.
Click ANIMATION in the Client Galleries Block settings to choose from five options:
None: Displays event images without a hover animation.
Scale: Slightly enlarges an image when a visitor hovers over it.
Blur: Applies a blur effect when a visitor hovers over an image.
Scale Blur: Combines the scaling and blurring effects.
Bounce: Adds a bouncing motion when a visitor hovers over an image.
Select your preferred effect and click SAVE CHANGES to apply it to your website.
Hover animations are primarily visible on desktop devices. Visitors using phones and tablets may not experience the same effects because touchscreens do not use traditional mouse hovering.
For more information about image hover effects, see How to Add Animation to My Images.
The Client Galleries Block includes a management menu that allows you to copy, move, rename, change the layout, access advanced settings, or delete the entire block.
To access these options, click the pencil icon in the upper-right corner of your Client Galleries Block.
Available Block Management Options
COPY: Creates a duplicate of the Client Galleries Block directly below the original. You can customize the copied block independently, including selecting a different event category. For complete instructions, see How to Move or Copy Blocks Between Pages.
MOVE: Moves your existing Client Galleries Block to another website page or repositions it at the top or bottom of the current page. Moving a block preserves its settings. For complete instructions, see How to Use the Move Function With Blocks.
RENAME: Allows you to give your Client Galleries Block a custom internal name for easier identification in the Website Builder. You can also use block names to create anchor links that direct visitors to a specific section of a website page. Renaming the block does not change the event titles visitors see. For complete instructions, see How to Rename Blocks and Add Anchor Links.
CHANGE LAYOUT: Opens the available Client Galleries Block layouts so you can change how your events appear without modifying the original Client Gallery events. For complete instructions, see How to Change Your Client Galleries Block Layout.
ADVANCED: Opens the Client Galleries Block settings panel, where you can manage the selected event category, Last Item Link, layout, styling, colors, background, fonts, and animations.
DELETE: Opens the confirmation panel for permanently deleting the Client Galleries Block from your website page.
The current layout name also appears above the block management menu. You can use the left and right arrows beside the layout name to switch between available layouts.
Deleting a Client Galleries Block removes it from your website page without deleting the original events stored in your Client Galleries Dashboard.
To delete the block, click the pencil icon in the upper-right corner of your Client Galleries Block and click DELETE.
The DELETE BLOCK confirmation panel opens with a warning that this action cannot be undone.
You have two options:
YES, DELETE IT: Permanently removes the Client Galleries Block and its customization settings from your website page.
CANCEL: Closes the confirmation panel without deleting the block.
Important: Deleting the block does not delete the original Client Gallery events, images, passwords, or event settings stored in your Client Galleries Dashboard.
Your existing events remain available and can be displayed again by adding another Client Galleries Block.
Deleted website blocks cannot be recovered through an undo option. If you want to display those events on your website again, you'll need to add and configure a new Client Galleries Block.
If you've created anchor links pointing to the deleted block, review those links and update their destinations as needed.
Each Client Galleries Block displays events from one selected Event Category.
If you photograph different session types, such as weddings, seniors, families, or newborns, you can add a separate Client Galleries Block for each category.
For example, you could create a Clients page with one block displaying Wedding events and another displaying Family Portrait events.
You can also create separate website pages for different Event Categories.
To keep the design consistent, use COPY from the block management menu to duplicate an existing Client Galleries Block. Then select a different Event Category in the copied block.
This allows you to reuse the same layout and styling without configuring each block from the beginning.
You can create a dedicated landing page on your PhotoBiz website to share an entire category of Client Gallery events with your customers.
This is especially useful for school photography, sports teams, mini sessions, and other photography services where clients need to find their individual galleries from one location.
To set this up, create a new website page or open an existing page in your Website Builder.
Add a Client Galleries Block and select the category you want to display under SELECT EVENTS.
Click SAVE CHANGES to apply your settings.
You can then share your website page's URL with customers through email, text messages, social media, or other communication channels.
Instead of sending a separate link for every event, you can direct customers to one page where they can browse the available galleries and select the event they want to open.
For help creating a landing page, see How to Add or Delete Pages on Your PhotoBiz Website.
Many clients will open their galleries from a phone or tablet. Use the Website Builder's mobile preview to check how your Client Galleries Block appears before sharing the page.
Confirm that:
Event titles are easy to read.
Important parts of event images are not cropped.
Links and navigation controls are easy to tap.
The selected one-column or two-column layout provides enough space.
Text remains readable against image overlays and backgrounds.
Event expiration dates are visible and legible if enabled.
You may need to adjust the layout, text size, spacing, or mobile columns to improve the display on smaller screens.
Client Galleries Blocks do not support DuoBuild, PhotoBiz's feature for displaying two supported blocks side by side.
You can still use the Client Galleries Block's available layouts and row and column settings to control how events are arranged within the block.
To learn how DuoBuild works and which blocks support it, see DuoBuild Introduction.
Client Galleries Blocks count toward the combined limit of 30 qualifying blocks per website page. This limit is shared with certain other block types, so the number of Client Galleries Blocks you can add depends on the blocks already on your page.
If you want to display numerous event categories, consider organizing them across multiple website pages to keep your content easy to browse.
For a complete explanation of which blocks count toward this limit, see What Is the Maximum Number of Blocks on a Page?
The Client Galleries Block is useful when you want to create a centralized gallery directory on your website. However, you can also share access to individual Client Gallery events without adding them to a website page.
Available sharing methods include:
Email Invitations (Recommended): Send a Client Gallery invitation directly to your customers.
Direct Links: Copy an event's share link and send it through email, text message, or another communication method.
Social Media: Share a link to your Client Gallery event through your social media accounts.
QR Codes: PhotoBiz provides a QR code that customers can scan to open each Client Gallery event.
For complete instructions, see How Can I Share Client Gallery Events with My Customers?
Why isn't my Client Gallery event appearing in the block?
Click CLIENT GALLERIES in your PhotoBiz account and confirm that the event exists and is assigned to the appropriate category.
Return to the Website Builder, open the Client Galleries Block settings, and confirm that SELECT EVENTS is set to the correct category.
Why aren't all my Client Gallery events visible?
Check your block's LAYOUT settings, including the selected number of rows and columns.
If your category contains more events than the initial layout displays, you can enable a Load More Link in the LAST ITEM section to let visitors load additional events.
For detailed instructions, see How to Enable the Last Item Link.
Why does a lock icon appear beside an event?
The lock icon indicates that the Client Gallery event is password-protected. Visitors must enter the event password before accessing the gallery.
You can display password-protected and non-password-protected events within the same Client Galleries Block.
Can I display an event without a cover image?
Yes. Client Gallery events do not need cover images to appear in the block.
Depending on your selected layout, an event without a cover image can display its title, password indicator, and expiration date instead.
Why can't I find a particular styling option?
Available styling, color, and layout controls vary depending on the selected Client Galleries Block layout.
Click LAYOUT to review your available designs and their customization options.
Will deleting a Client Galleries Block delete my events?
No. Deleting the block only removes that display from your website page.
Your original events, images, and event settings remain in the Client Galleries Dashboard.
Why are my events appearing in the wrong order?
Client Gallery events normally follow the order saved in the Client Galleries Dashboard.
If the events appear out of order, click CLIENT GALLERIES in the left-side menu and open EVENTS.
Drag the first event into the second position and release it. Then drag that event back into the first position and release it again.
This resaves the event order. Return to your website and refresh the page to check the updated order.
