How to Add a Tag Cloud to Individual PhotoBiz Blog Posts

Overview

A Tag Cloud Blog Widget displays the tags used across your PhotoBiz blog and helps visitors find posts about similar topics. When a visitor selects a tag, PhotoBiz displays the blog posts associated with that tag.

The Tag Cloud appears at the bottom of each individual blog post. It displays below the comments section and below Related Posts when the Display Related Posts setting is enabled. It does not appear on your main blog page or inside the Blog Block that displays your collection of posts.

This guide explains how to create a Tag Cloud Blog Widget and how it appears on your published blog posts.

STEP ONE

Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu.

This opens the Website Builder, where you can manage your website pages, settings, and blog display options.

STEP TWO

Click SETTINGS at the top center of the Website Builder.

This opens your website settings panel.

STEP THREE

Click BLOG WIDGETS, then click the NEW WIDGET button.

The Create Widget section will open so you can configure a widget that appears at the end of each individual blog post.

STEP FOUR

Click the WIDGET TYPE dropdown menu and select TAGS.

Enter a name in the LABEL field. This label will display above the Tag Cloud at the bottom of each individual blog post.

Click the Create Widget button to create the Tag Cloud Blog Widget.

FINAL STEP

After you create the widget, it will appear in your Blog Widgets list with Tags shown as the Widget Type.

Open an individual published blog post on your live website and scroll to the bottom. The Tag Cloud will appear below the comments section. When Display Related Posts is enabled, the Tag Cloud will appear below the Related Posts section as well.

The Tag Cloud does not appear on the main blog page. Visitors must open an individual blog post and scroll to the bottom to view it.

How the Tag Cloud Displays Your Tags

The Tag Cloud uses the tags assigned to your published blog posts. Tags associated with more blog posts appear in a larger font than tags used on fewer posts.

For example, if the tag Wedding Photography is assigned to 20 posts and Studio Tips is assigned to three posts, Wedding Photography will appear larger in the Tag Cloud.

The different font sizes help visitors identify the topics that appear most frequently across your blog.

When a visitor selects a tag, PhotoBiz displays the posts associated with that tag.

Tag Cloud Location

The Tag Cloud displays at the bottom of each individual blog post in the following order:

  • After the blog post content
  • Below the comments section
  • Below Related Posts when Display Related Posts is enabled

The Tag Cloud does not display:

  • On the main blog landing page
  • Inside the Blog Block that displays your posts
  • At the top of an individual blog post
  • On other website pages

Tips for Organizing Blog Tags

Use consistent tags to make your Tag Cloud more helpful for visitors.

  • Use short, descriptive tag names.
  • Assign the same tag to posts about the same topic.
  • Avoid creating multiple versions of similar tags.
  • Keep spelling and capitalization consistent.
  • Add relevant tags whenever you publish a new post.
  • Avoid adding tags that are not directly related to the post.

A photographer might use tags such as:

  • Wedding Photography
  • Engagement Sessions
  • Newborn Photography
  • Senior Portraits
  • Photography Tips
  • Behind the Scenes

Displaying Related Posts

The Display Related Posts setting is separate from the Tag Cloud Blog Widget. When this setting is enabled, PhotoBiz displays related blog posts near the bottom of each individual post.

The Tag Cloud will appear below the Related Posts section.

Using both features gives visitors two ways to explore more of your blog:

  • Related Posts recommends additional content based on the post being viewed.
  • The Tag Cloud allows visitors to browse all posts associated with a selected tag.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

The Tag Cloud Does Not Display Any Tags

Confirm that tags have been assigned to your published blog posts. The Tag Cloud cannot display tags that are not currently associated with a post.

A Tag Is Smaller Than Other Tags

This is expected. Tags associated with more blog posts display in a larger font. Tags used on fewer posts display in a smaller font.

A Tag Does Not Show the Expected Posts

Open the affected posts and confirm that the same tag has been assigned to each one. Differences in spelling, spacing, or capitalization may create separate tags.

The Tag Cloud Does Not Appear on the Main Blog Page

The Tag Cloud only appears at the bottom of each individual blog post. It does not display on the main blog landing page or inside the Blog Block.

Open a published blog post and scroll below the comments and Related Posts sections to view the Tag Cloud.

Blog Tag Cloud Widget Example

After you create the Tag Cloud Blog Widget, it will display below the comments section at the bottom of each individual blog post. When Display Related Posts is enabled, the Tag Cloud will appear below the Related Posts section, similar to the screenshot below.
