How to Submit Your PhotoBiz Website Sitemap to Bing Webmaster Tools

Overview

Submitting your website sitemap to Bing Webmaster Tools helps Bing understand the structure of your website and discover new or updated pages. Your PhotoBiz Website Package automatically generates an XML sitemap for your website, so you do not need to create one manually.

This guide explains how to verify your PhotoBiz website with Bing Webmaster Tools and submit your sitemap. Once your sitemap is submitted, you can use Bing Webmaster Tools to see when Bing last crawled your website.

PhotoBiz is not affiliated with Bing or Bing Webmaster Tools. Bing controls its own search results, crawl timing, indexing decisions, and reporting inside Bing Webmaster Tools.

STEP ONE

Open a new browser tab or window and go to Bing Webmaster Tools.

Once you are logged in, choose the option to add your site manually. Enter your website domain name, then continue to the verification options.

STEP TWO

Choose the HTML Meta Tag Verification option in Bing Webmaster Tools.

Copy the meta tag provided by Bing. Leave Bing Webmaster Tools open in your browser so you can return to it after adding the tag to your PhotoBiz account.

At the top center of your Website control panel, click TRACKING. In the Tracking section, locate the HEAD area. Paste the Bing meta tag into the Head area, then click Save Changes.

Return to Bing Webmaster Tools and complete the verification process. Once Bing confirms the meta tag, your website will be verified.

STEP THREE

After your website is verified, click SITEMAPS in the left-side menu inside Bing Webmaster Tools.

This section allows you to submit your PhotoBiz website sitemap and review sitemap crawl information from Bing.

STEP FOUR

Click the Submit Sitemap button.

A field will open where you can enter your sitemap URL.

STEP FIVE

Enter your PhotoBiz website sitemap URL using the following format:

https://www.yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml

Replace www.yourdomain.com with your actual website domain name.

Click Submit to add your sitemap to Bing Webmaster Tools. After the sitemap is submitted, Bing will display information about the sitemap, including when it was submitted and when Bing last crawled it.

Bing will automatically check your sitemap regularly for updates, but crawl timing and indexing are controlled by Bing.

Your PhotoBiz website sitemap updates automatically as you make changes to your website pages. You do not need to manually rebuild or upload a sitemap file.

If you also publish blog content on your PhotoBiz website, you may choose to submit your blog RSS feed separately in Bing Webmaster Tools using this format:

https://www.yourdomain.com/blog-rss

Submitting the blog RSS feed can help Bing discover new blog posts, but it should not replace submitting your main website sitemap.

Search engine indexing is not instant. Submitting a sitemap helps Bing find your content, but it does not guarantee that every page will appear in Bing search results.

What if Bing cannot verify my website?

Confirm that the full meta tag from Bing was copied correctly and pasted into the HEAD area under WEBSITE, then TRACKING in your PhotoBiz control panel. After saving your changes, return to Bing Webmaster Tools and try the verification again.

No. PhotoBiz automatically generates your sitemap, but Bing controls its own crawl schedule, indexing decisions, and search results.
