How to Add Conditional Fields to Your PhotoBiz Form

Overview

The PhotoBiz Form & Contract Builder allows you to create dynamic forms that change based on your client’s answers. Conditional fields let you show additional form fields only when a client selects a specific option.

This is helpful when you want to collect more details without making your form longer than necessary. For example, if a client selects a specific session date, you can have a time slot field appear automatically.

By the end of this guide, you will know how to add conditional fields to a PhotoBiz form.

Prerequisites

Conditional fields can only be added to these field types:

  • Drop Down Menu
  • Radio Select
  • Checkbox

The fields you want to show conditionally must already exist on the form before you can select them as conditional fields.

STEP ONE

Log into your PhotoBiz account and click FORMS in the left-side menu.

STEP TWO

Click the Form Name for the form you want to update. You can also create a new form if you are building one from scratch. If you have more than one category of forms, you can use the search bar to find your form by name.

STEP THREE

Locate the Drop Down Menu, Radio Select, or Checkbox field where you want to add conditional logic.

Click the pencil icon to edit the field, then click Advanced.

STEP FOUR

Click the field choice title for the option that should trigger the conditional field.

STEP FIVE

Under Conditional Fields, click the drop-down menu and select the field you want to appear when that choice is selected.

Click Add Field to attach the conditional field to that choice.

Repeat this process for each choice that needs to show an additional field.

FINAL STEP

Once you have added all conditional fields, scroll to the bottom and click Save Changes.

Your form will now show the selected conditional fields when clients choose the matching options.

Additional Options or Helpful Notes

Conditional fields help keep forms shorter and easier to complete because clients only see fields that apply to their selections.

Before adding conditional logic, it may help to build all of your form fields first. This makes it easier to choose which fields should appear under each option.

You can use conditional fields for workflows such as:

  • Showing time slots based on a selected date
  • Asking follow-up questions based on a service choice
  • Collecting extra details only when a client selects a specific option
  • Showing contract or form fields that apply to certain client responses

Troubleshooting or FAQs

Why don’t I see the Conditional Fields option?

Conditional fields are only available for Drop Down Menu, Radio Select, and Checkbox fields. If you are editing another field type, the conditional field option will not be available.

Why can’t I select the field I want to show?

The field must already exist on the form before it can be selected as a conditional field. Add the field to your form first, then return to the trigger field and select it under Conditional Fields.

Can one choice show more than one conditional field?

Yes. You can add multiple conditional fields to the same choice by selecting each field and clicking Add Field.
